Hatley was optioned back to Triple-A Memphis on Wednesday. Hatley made two appearances for St. Louis after being called up on June 30, most recently pitching one-third of an inning in Game 1 of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Cubs. He'll head back to Triple-A, where he holds a 1.39 ERA in 23 appearances this season.

Hatley was called up from Triple-A Memphis on Tuesday. With Matt Belisle (elbow) hitting the DL, Hatley will come up from Triple-A to fill his spot on the roster. Hatley is 4-2 with a healthy 1.69 ERA in 37.1 innings at Triple-A this season. In order to clear room on the 40-man roster, the Cardinals moved Jordan Walden to the 60-day DL.
