Gore (4-2) took the loss during Saturday's 6-2 defeat at the hands of the Rockies in Game 2 of a doubleheader, allowing six runs on five hits and four walks with three strikeouts in 2.1 innings.
EDGE Analysis
Gore navigated an easy first inning and permitted just one run in the second but surrendered five baserunners and five runs in the third before being pulled to submit the worst start of his young career. The blip caused the 23-year-old rookie's ERA to spike a full run from 1.50 to 2.50 and was his first start in 10 turns where he allowed more than three runs. Gore will go for revenge with another start against Colorado set for next weekend.

Gore (4-1) earned the win against Milwaukee on Saturday, pitching six scoreless innings during which he allowed three hits and three walks while striking out 10.
EDGE Analysis
Gore was dominant in the start, tying his career high with 10 strikeouts and inducing 14 swings-and-misses. The rookie threw 108 pitches -- his most as a big-leaguer -- and didn't allow any extra-base hits. After seeing his prospect stock drop last season, Gore has turned things around in his first opportunity in the majors, logging a 1.50 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 57:17 K:BB across 48 innings. The early Rookie of the Year favorite is expected to make his next start at home against Colorado next weekend.

Gore didn't factor into the decision during Sunday's 4-2 win against Pittsburgh, allowing two hits and three walks with nine strikeouts in seven scoreless innings.
EDGE Analysis
Gore shut down the Pirates offense by throwing 66 of 93 pitches for strikes with a season-high nine strikeouts and an impressive 15 swinging strikes. Unfortunately for the 23-year-old, the bullpen let in two runs in the eighth to immediately spoil the rookie's excellent performance. Gore has now held opposing offenses to three runs or fewer in each of his seven starts while allowing just one run over his last 16 innings to lower his ERA to an impressive 1.71. He'll look to keep the momentum rolling against Milwaukee next weekend.

Gore (3-1) earned the victory, striking out six over six innings while allowing one run on three hits and two walks in a 10-1 win Sunday in San Francisco.
EDGE Analysis
With the Padres already ahead by seven runs, Gore allowed a sacrifice fly in the fourth inning for the only run against him in an otherwise stellar outing. It was the first time the young lefty completed six innings in a game at the major-league level. The 23-year-old has put up excellent numbers to start his career and has a 2.06 ERA with 38 strikeouts over 35 innings, allowing just one long ball. Assuming he will continue in a starting role, his next start will likely come next weekend against Pittsburgh.

Gore is starting Sunday's series finale against the Giants, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gore pitched out of the bullpen Tuesday against the Phillies, and he allowed three hits and no walks while striking out four in three scoreless innings to earn the hold. The Padres haven't announced whether Gore will remain in the rotation following Sunday's start, but the southpaw has certainly performed well this season by posting a 2.17 ERA and 1.21 WHIP in 29 innings over six appearances (five starts).

Gore picked up a hold against Philadelphia on Tuesday by throwing three scoreless innings, allowing three hits while striking out four.
EDGE Analysis
This was Gore's first professional relief appearance -- before Tuesday, he had started in all 61 of his minor- and major-league outings. The new role didn't seem to phase the 23-year-old, as he threw 30 of 40 pitches for strikes and limited the Phillies to three singles. Gore has been great as a starter this season, posting a 2.42 ERA and 1.23 WHIP over 26 innings, but he moved to the bullpen due to the return of Mike Clevinger and the imminent return of Blake Snell (groin). Gore is a candidate to move back into the rotation if the need arises, but he could spend substantial time in the bullpen throughout the season since the Padres will likely look to limit his workload.

Gore is scheduled to work behind starter Mike Clevinger in relief during Tuesday's game against the Phillies, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
At least to begin the week, Gore will be pitching out of the bullpen with the Padres set to return Blake Snell (groin) from the 10-day injured list to start Wednesday. San Diego could move back to a six-man rotation as it begins a stretch of 40 games in 42 days beginning Monday, but it's unclear if Gore or Nick Martinez -- who is also in the bullpen to begin the week -- will be reappointed to a starting role. From a performance standpoint, Gore proved to be deserving of a permanent starting role, as he submitted a 2.42 ERA and 28:9 K:BB across 26 innings through his first five outings. However, because he's just 23 years old and hasn't tossed more than 100 innings in a season since 2019, the Padres could be inclined to keep Gore in the bullpen as a means of managing his workload.

Gore isn't scheduled to pitch during the three-game series against the Phillies, which begins Tuesday, and he could be available out of the bullpen, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 23-year-old will receive some extra rest coming off Monday's scheduled off day, with Mike Clevinger, Blake Snell (groin) and Yu Darvish set to start in Philadelphia. Gore has a 2.42 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 28:9 K:BB over 26 innings through his first five major-league starts, but it's not a significant surprise to see the Padres showing some caution with his workload after he was limited to 50.1 innings last season. The young lefty should rejoin the rotation before too long given his immediate success in the big leagues.

Gore (2-1) took the loss Monday as the Padres fell 6-0 to the Cubs, giving up three runs on seven hits over five innings. He struck out six without walking a batter.
EDGE Analysis
It was far from a poor effort from the rookie southpaw, who fired 57 of 89 pitches for strikes, but San Diego hitters managed only three hits on the night. Gore continues to impress with his improved control, and through his first five big-league starts he boasts a 2.42 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 28:9 K:BB in 26 innings. Even with Blake Snell (groin) closing in on his season debut, it will be tough for the Padres to pull Gore from the rotation.

Gore tossed 5.2 innings in the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader against Cleveland, allowing one run on four hits and three walks while striking out two. He did not factor in the decision.
EDGE Analysis
The rookie struggled with his control at times, as he threw only 59 of 100 pitches for strikes and issued a season-high three free passes. He didn't have his swing-and-miss stuff working, either -- Gore induced only four swinging strikes and picked up a mere two punchouts -- yet he navigated his way through nearly six frames allowing only one run. The southpaw's success was largely a result of preventing Cleveland from collecting any extra-base hits against him, and he hasn't served up a long ball since his first start of the campaign. The Padres have to feel good about Gore keeping things under control in a game during which he didn't have his best stuff, and he'll carry a 1.71ERA into his next start, which is slated to come at home against the Cubs next week.
