White Sox manager Pedro Grifol said Monday that Robert (hip) could begin playing in games with the team's rookie-level Arizona Complex League affiliate later this week, James Fegan of SoxMachine.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The White Sox are aiming for Robert to be able to run at 90 percent effort in the coming days. If that happens, Robert is expected to be cleared for Complex League games. The 26-year-old presumably would eventually move up to a higher-level affiliate to continue his rehab. Robert has been out since early April with a Grade 2 right hip flexor strain but should return from the 10-day injured list before the end of the month if all goes well.

White Sox manager Pedro Grifol said Tuesday that Robert (hip) is taking batting practice and running at 80 percent, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 26-year-old is about halfway through the short end of his initial recovery timeline of 6-to-8 weeks, and he appears to be a bit ahead of schedule. Robert could be ready to rejoin the White Sox in mid-May, but the organization is likely to remain cautious as he ramps up his baseball activities over the next couple weeks.

White Sox GM Chris Getz said Friday that Robert (hip) could be back from the injured list in mid-May, Vinnie Duber of AllCHGO.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 26-year-old was given a six-week recovery timeline after he landed on the shelf April 6 with a Grade 2 right hip flexor strain, and it appears he may be slightly ahead of schedule. Veterans Tommy Pham and Rafael Ortega had their contracts selected by Chicago on Friday and should see most of the action in center field until Robert can return from the injured list.

White Sox general manager Chris Getz said Friday that Robert (hip) is trending toward a six-week absence, James Fegan of SoxMachine.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's good news, as that's the shorter end of the 6-to-8 week timetable that had been provided when Robert went down with a Grade 2 right hip flexor strain. The White Sox have not put Robert on the 60-day injured list and it sounds like it might not be necessary for them to do so. Dominic Fletcher has been seeing the bulk of the starts in center field for Chicago since Robert was hurt.

Robert (hip) is expected to be sidelined for 6-to-8 weeks, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Robert is on the injured list with a Grade 2 right hip flexor strain, an injury he suffered this past Friday while running the bases. He dealt with a Grade 3 right hip flexor strain back in 2021 and wound up being sidelined for nearly three and a half months. Dominic Fletcher has shifted over to center field for the White Sox to accommodate for the loss of Robert, while Kevin Pillar and Robbie Grossman should see upticks in playing time in right field. The club could also eventually decide to give Oscar Colas another look.

The White Sox placed Robert (hip) on the 10-day injured list Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Imaging confirmed that Robert sustained a Grade 2 right hip flexor strain while running the bases in the ninth inning of Friday's loss to the Royals, per James Fegan of SoxMachine.com -- a similar location to his tear in 2021. With Robert likely facing an extended stint on the IL, the White Sox recalled infielder Lenyn Sosa from Triple-A Charlotte.

Robert suffered a right hip flexor injury during Friday's loss against the Royals, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Manager Pedro Grifol said after the game that more information on Robert's injury will come after he gets X-rays on Saturday, but he confirmed that the issue is in the outfielder's right hip. Robert has battled hip issues before in his career, missing roughly three months of the 2021 season due to a right hip flexor injury. Should Robert have to miss an extended period of time, Kevin Pillar would likely fill in as Chicago's center fielder.

Robert was removed from Friday's game against the Royals with an apparent right leg injury, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Robert came up limping after hitting a double in the ninth inning of Friday's contest, and he was reluctant to put any weight on his right leg as he hopped toward second base. Losing the 26-year-old slugger would be a huge blow to a White Sox lineup that has already struggled to begin the year, but more information on his status will come after the team's medical staff takes a closer look at him.

Robert went 3-for-4 with a walk, two home runs and four RBI in Saturday's 7-6 extra-inning loss to the Tigers.
EDGE Analysis
The 26-year-old outfielder teed off against Kenta Maeda, belting a two-run homer in the first and third innings to help stake the White Sox to an early lead that the bullpen couldn't protect. Robert cranked out a career-high 38 homers and stole 20 bases in 2023 while slashing .264/.315/.542, but that was also the first season in which he played more than 98 games for Chicago. His ability to stay healthy will likely be the biggest factor in determining whether he can repeat that performance.

Robert is fully healthy in spring training after his 2023 season was ended by a knee injury, Vinnie Duber of AllCHGO.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Robert was mostly healthy across a full season for the first time in four big-league campaigns and racked up 590 plate appearances. He narrowly missed a 40/20 season and should be in line for another dynamic stat line in 2024 so long as he can remain on the field. While the White Sox may deal many of their remaining veteran players as they continue to rebuild, Robert is expected to stay on the roster as he is under team control for four more seasons.
