Robert is absent from the lineup for Monday's tilt in St. Louis.
EDGE Analysis
Robert will receive a day of rest after starting all three games of the Mets' season-opening series against the Pirates. Carson Benge will slide over to center field and Brett Baty will handle right field for the Mets.

Robert went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run and a walk in Saturday's 4-2 extra-innings win over the Pirates.
EDGE Analysis
With the Mets trailing 2-1 in the bottom of the 11th, Robert delivered a walk-off three-run blast off Hunter Barco. The 28-year-old is off to a hot start with his new club, collecting three hits and driving in five runs through two games. While durability has been a concern throughout his career, Robert is certainly capable of a bounce-back campaign hitting in the middle of a potentially potent Mets lineup.

Robert went 2-for-4 with a walk, a run scored and two RBI in Thursday's win over the Pirates.
EDGE Analysis
Batting fifth in his Mets debut, Robert was a big part of an offensive eruption that saw his new team score 11 runs and chase Paul Skenes from the game in the first inning. Robert's athletic gifts have never been in question, but the 28-year-old center fielder has rarely been able to stay healthy during his career, playing more than 110 games only once in six seasons with the White Sox and struggling to a .223/.288/.372 slash line with a 29.7 percent strikeout rate in 2024-25. If he's able to stay in the lineup for New York, he's still capable of putting together a big campaign.

Robert could make his Grapefruit League debut with the Mets on Thursday, Tim Britton of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 28-year-old center fielder has been treated with kid gloves early in the spring, having him play exclusively on back fields, but the Mets appear just about ready to let Robert start ramping up in earnest ahead of Opening Day. "He's in a good place right now," manager Carlos Mendoza said Sunday. "You just watch him take batting practice, and the way the ball comes off his bat is different. He could be special." It's been a while since Robert was healthy enough to display his considerable upside, but the last time he played close to a full season in 2023, he slashed .264/.315/.542 with 38 homers and 20 steals in 145 games.

Robert played four innings in a minor-league game Wednesday, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The oft-injured outfielder is being brought along slowly this spring, but his Grapefruit League debut appears imminent. Mets manager Carlos Mendoza indicated after Wednesday's action that Robert would play in back-field games every other day for the rest of this week, before joining the big-league lineup at some point next week. New York is hoping that a healthy Robert will be able to repeat his numbers from his final month-plus last year with the White Sox, when he slashed .293/.349/.459 over 37 games after July 1 with six homers and 11 steals in 13 attempts.

The Mets will hold Robert out of the first few Grapefruit League games as he works on strengthening his lower body, Laura Albanese of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
Robert is healthy, but the club wants to be proactive given all the leg issues the outfielder has dealt with the last few years. The 28-year-old slashed only .223/.288/.372 while averaging 105 games played over his last two seasons with the White Sox, but he showed signs of life in the second half of 2025 in hitting .298/.352/.456 before being shut down with a strained hamstring. Robert will be the Mets' everyday center fielder in 2026 for as long as he can stay healthy.

The White Sox traded Robert to the Mets on Tuesday in exchange for Luisangel Acuna and Truman Pauley, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Although he finished the 2025 campaign with a .661 OPS, Robert showed flashes of returning to his 2023 form by slashing .298/.352/.456 across 125 plate appearances after the All-Star break before a hamstring strain ended his season in late August. He also delivered his most productive season on the basepaths, tallying a career-high 33 stolen bases despite missing the final month of the year. With Jeff McNeil (shoulder), Brandon Nimmo and Cedric Mullins all having departed Queens this offseason, Robert figures to have a clear path to starting in center field every day for the Mets.

The White Sox exercised Robert's $20 million option for 2026 on Tuesday, Jesse Rogers of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Robert has slashed only .223/.288/.372 over 210 games covering the past two seasons and has a lengthy history of injuries. However, he hit .298/.352/.456 after the All-Star break in 2025, and the White Sox are betting on his ability to bounce back. Having a $20 million club option for 2027 surely factored into their decision, as well. Robert ended this season on the 10-day injured list with a strained hamstring, but he'll be 100 percent for spring training.

White Sox general manager Chris Getz acknowledged Wednesday that Robert could be done for the season after being diagnosed with a Grade 2 left hamstring strain, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Robert suffered the injury during Tuesday's 5-4 loss to the Royals and was subsequently placed on the 10-day injured list Wednesday. Given that he's been diagnosed with a moderate strain and the White Sox have less than five weeks of games remaining, a return before the end of the season looks like a long shot for Robert. Getz also noted Wednesday that the club remains "committed to Luis," perhaps hinting that the organization plans on exercising Robert's $20 million team option for 2026 this offseason. If Robert's 2025 season is indeed over, he'll finish with a .223/.297/.364 batting line, 14 home runs, 33 stolen bases, 53 RBI and 52 runs over 428 plate appearances. He performed much better following the All-Star break with a .298/.352/.456 slash line, after he had batted just .190/.275/.325 in the first half.

The White Sox placed Robert on the 10-day injured list Wednesday due to a left hamstring strain.
EDGE Analysis
Robert suffered the injury during Tuesday's 5-4 loss to the Royals. The severity of the strain hasn't yet been revealed, but even a low-grade strain has the potential to keep Robert shelved longer than the minimum 10 days. Brooks Baldwin and Michael Taylor will likely see the bulk of the playing time in center field while Robert is sidelined.
