Duda is not in the lineup for game one of Saturday's doubleheader against the Braves, Marc Carig of Newsday reports.

With the Mets shuffling the lineup around due to the doubleheader, Duda will get a breather for game one as the club faces southpaw Sean Newcomb. In his place, Wilmer Flores is manning first and batting fourth.

Over his last six games, Duda is now hitting a blistering .346/.370/.923 with four homers and eight RBI. After an injury-plagued 2016, the first baseman has come back strong and is on pace for a career-best season if he can stay healthy.

The blast was his seventh homer of the season and third in his last four games. Duda's current .978 OPS would be the highest of his career if he can maintain that pace but he's been even hotter recently, slashing .435/.519/1.000 with nine RBI in his last six games.

Currently locked into a 9-for-18 stretch at the dish with two home runs, four doubles, eight RBI and five runs through his past five games, Duda is heating up. He hit 57 bombs over the 2014 and 2015 campaigns, so the 31-year-old first baseman is capable of being a go-to fantasy asset. Additionally, the New York lineup has the potential of posting plenty of crooked numbers, so Duda is a player on the rise.

Duda hit his first home run since April 14, a welcome sight for fantasy owners who have been looking for the slugger to regain his power stroke since returning from the disabled list on May 12. His slash line since coming back from injury is a pedestrian .250/.426/.417, but he may be starting to heat up with five hits in his last three games.

Duda went 3-for-4 with a double, three RBI and a run against the Padres on Tuesday.

EDGE Analysis

He'd been slumping since returning from the disabled list, going just 4-for-26 (.154) without a homer over nine games, so it was nice to see Duda bust out with a multi-hit performance. The slugging first baseman is still looking for his first long ball since April 14, but his track record should give fantasy owners some confidence that he'll find his power stroke in due time.

Duda started the past three games, but with lefty Patrick Corbin on the bump for Arizona, he'll head to the bench for a day off. T.J. Rivera will move over to first base to fill in for him.

There was some speculation that Duda might not rejoin the starting lineup right away after coming off the DL given how well T.J. Rivera has been hitting, but Mets manager Terry Collins elected to slide Rivera over to third base to make room for Duda instead. With Asdrubal Cabrera back in action as well the team's infield is suddenly crowded, but Duda should at least be manning first against all right-handed pitchers going forward.

A few successful rehab appearances gave the Mets enough confidence to deploy Duda back onto the Mets' roster. However, given the success of interim first baseman T.J. Rivera, Duda isn't guaranteed to have the first base job handed back to him, so he'll likely need to prove his worth before landing back in his everyday role again.
