Webb is available in relief Thursday against the Cubs, but he will start Sunday against the Diamondbacks if he is not needed Thursday, Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Giants won't use Webb unless they really need to during the day game at Wrigley Field. He was effective in his big-league debut last week, giving up one earned run while striking out seven in five innings to pick up the win against the Diamondbacks. With Shaun Anderson (blister) and Johnny Cueto (elbow) expected back fairly soon, Webb's run in the rotation may not last long.

Webb will stick in the big-league rotation for now, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
He won his big-league debut Saturday against the Diamondbacks and figures to pitch in next weekend's two-game series in Oakland. Madison Bumgarner may be bumped up to pitch Saturday, which would give Webb seven days rest in between starts.

Webb (1-0) allowed two runs (one earned) on five hits and a walk while striking out seven over five innings to earn the win Saturday versus the Diamondbacks.
EDGE Analysis
A two-run first inning was the only blemish on Webb's ledger, as he settled in nicely for the rest of the appearance. He tossed 54 of his 93 pitches for strikes. The right-hander may not be up with the Giants for long, as they have a five-game week ahead and may choose to roll with four starters.

Webb was officially promoted from Triple-A Sacramento ahead of Saturday's start against the Diamondbacks.
EDGE Analysis
Joey Rickard was optioned, freeing up a spot for Webb on the 25-man roster. Webb was excellent in his 41.1 innings at Double-A this season, posting a 2.40 FIP and 19.6 K-BB%, and he followed that up with seven strong innings in his Triple-A debut Monday. The Giants have two off days next week, so Webb is not a lock to stick around for the rest of August.

Webb will be recalled from Triple-A Sacramento to start Saturday's game against the Diamondbacks, Kerry Crowley of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Webb was rumored to be in the mix for Saturday's start earlier in the week, and skipper Bruce Bochy confirmed prior to Friday's clash that Webb will toe the rubber for the third game of the series. He's ready to make his major-league debut after surrendering just one run over seven innings during his last start Monday against Triple-A Nashville.

Manager Bruce Bochy mentioned Webb as a candidate to fill the opening in the Giants' rotation Saturday against the Diamondbacks, John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Since Webb is already on the 40-man roster, is stretched out to start and would be available on his normal four days' rest, he makes for a logical choice to fill the rotation spot that was vacated by Shaun Anderson's (finger) recent move to the injured list. Webb posted a 1.92 ERA in 11 starts at Double-A Richmond before moving up to Triple-A Sacramento this week and excelling in his Pacific Coast League debut, holding Nashville to one run on seven hits while striking out seven in seven innings. Anderson is expected back from the IL next week, so Webb would likely only be in line for a spot start if he gets a callup.

Webb was promoted to Triple-A Sacramento on Friday, Dalton Johnson of NBC Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
One of the top pitching prospects in the Giants' system, Webb was suspended for 80 games earlier this year for testing positive for a performance-enhancing substance. He recorded a 2.18 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 47:12 K:BB in 41.1 innings at Double-A after logging 30.2 innings at that level in 2018. Webb could join the big-league rotation later this season or early next season.

Webb was reinstated from the restricted list Saturday, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Webb returns from his 80-game suspension for testing positive for performance-enhancing drugs and will report to Double-A Richmond, where he'll start Sunday. In five starts at the Double-A level this season, the 22-year-old has an ERA of 2.00 with a 1.15 WHIP. The right-hander could be a candidate to join the major-league club once rosters expand in September. Ty Blach was designated for assignment in a corresponding move.

Webb (suspension) was placed on the restricted list Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
This comes after Webb was handed an 80-game suspension for testing positive for a performance-enhancing drug Wednesday. The suspension will likely keep the right-hander out until late July, while his placement on the restricted list frees up a spot on the team's 40-man roster for the addition of catcher Stephen Vogt. Prior to getting suspended, Webb -- one of the Giants' better pitching prospects -- compiled a 2.00 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 31:7 K:BB through five starts (27 innings) with Double-A Richmond.

Webb received an 80-game suspension Wednesday after testing positive for a performance-enhancing substance, MLBPipeline.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
One of the better pitching prospects in the Giants' system, Webb was enjoying a strong season for Double-A Richmond, posting a 2.00 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 31:7 K:BB in 27 innings across his first five starts. The suspension will keep him sidelined until late July, robbing him of some crucial development time but otherwise doing little to dramatically alter his long-term outlook. Assuming he's able to pick up where he left off once eligible to rejoin Richmond, Webb might have a shot at cracking the big-league rotation at some point in 2020.
