Morrison (wrist) agreed to a one-year, $2.5 million deal with the Rays on Friday, Yahoo! Sports' Jeff Passan reports.
EDGE Analysis
He was essentially a league average hitter last year (101 wRC+), but his .238 average, 14 home runs, 45 runs and 43 RBI placed him below the line of a useful corner infielder in standard leagues. Morrison won't play every day, but he also won't require a strict platoon at first base, and could be a useful compiler in deep mixers and AL-only leagues. He had offseason wrist surgery but is expected to be ready for the start of spring training.

Morrison (wrist) became a free agent Thursday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Morrison signed a one-year deal with Tampa Bay last offseason, but he'll depart after an abysmal season where he batted just .238 with 14 home runs. The 29-year-old does walk at a solid rate, although his uptick in strikeouts could deter some of his suitors this winter while he recovers from wrist surgery.

Morrison (wrist) will undergo his previously scheduled wrist surgery Tuesday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran had originally been scheduled for the procedure back on Sept. 28, but it was delayed by several days. After the torn sheath that's prompting the surgery is repaired, Morrison is reportedly facing about a 12-week recovery timetable, leaving him plenty of time to be ready to compete for a job somewhere in the majors during spring training. The free agent slashed .238/.319/.414 in a largely disappointing 2016 campaign.

Morrison (wrist) will undergo surgery Wednesday to repair the sheath in his injured left wrist, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Morrison received the diagnosis last week, and while the tear in the sheath is relatively minor, Morrison will face a 12-week recovery timetable. Barring any setbacks, he should have no trouble returning to full strength well before the start of the 2017 season. Just where he'll be suiting up in 2017 remains to be seen, however, as he'll enter the offseason as a free agent.

Morrison (wrist) was placed on the 60-day disabled list Friday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Since Morrison's wrist injury ended his season prematurely, the Rays decided to open his spot on the roster for Jaff Decker. The timetable for Morrison's return currently sits at three months, which should get him in line to be ready for spring training with whichever team signs him in the offseason.

The severity of the tear in Morrison's wrist sheath is minimal and he will be back to swinging a bat in 12 weeks, Yahoo! Sports' Jeff Passan reports.
EDGE Analysis
This is a big break for Morrison, as a more severe tear could have sidelined him for up to six months. His season was expected to be over regardless, but now it sounds like he should make a full recovery from surgery in time for spring training. He is a free agent this offseason and is coming off a year when he was exactly a league average hitter (100 wRC+). Morrison hit .244/.352/.526 with four homers in 26 games in the second half to help make up for a mediocre first half. He'll likely sign on as the starting first baseman with a non-contender or as a bench bat with a contending team.

Morrison's MRI revealed a torn sheath in his wrist, Mark Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
While this is the initial diagnosis, Morrison will be getting a second opinion. If he does in fact have a torn sheath, the injury would require surgery. Either way, it doesn't appear that Morrison is due to return in the near future. In his absence, look for Brad Miller and Nick Franklin to share time at first base.

Morrison (wrist) is scheduled for an MRI and exam Wednesday that will determine whether or not he needs surgery, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran injured the wrist on a swing on Sunday versus the Yankees and has already stated that his season is over irrespective of the results of the forthcoming examination. Morrison's first Rays season got off to an absymal start, but he rebounded somewhat to finish with a .238/.319/.414 line that includes 18 doubles, a triple, 14 homers and 43 RBI.

Morrison (wrist) stated after Sunday's game that he fears his current wrist injury will sideline him the remainder of the season, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Timesreports.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran strained a sheath in his wrist in the fourth inning and made his assessment following the game. Morrison is scheduled to have an MRI next week to determine if surgery will be necessary.

Morrison was diagnosed with a left wrist strain after exiting Sunday's game against the Yankees in the fourth inning.
EDGE Analysis
The Rays are listing Morrison as day-to-day, but given the team's low placement in the standings, it's possible he'll be held out for multiple games in order to aid his recovery. If Morrison ends up missing extensive time, Nick Franklin would likely see a surge of starts at first base or DH.
