Lynn (0-1) took the loss Friday as the Rangers fell 3-1 to the Angels, allowing two runs on five hits and a walk over seven innings while striking out five.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander bounced back in impressive fashion from a rough Rangers debut, throwing 65 of 105 pitches for strikes in his first quality start of the season. The club has a couple off days coming up, but with Edinson Volquez (elbow) now on the IL, it's not yet clear whether Lynn will stay on schedule and pitch Wednesday in Arizona, or get some extra rest before taking the mound Friday at home against the A's.

Lynn allowed seven runs on 10 hits and struck out five over 5.2 innings Sunday against the Cubs. He didn't factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Lynn never managed to settle in during his first outing of 2019, surrendering at least one run in the second, third, fourth and sixth innings. Despite this, the Rangers would come away with a win in the bottom of the ninth because of a wild pitch by Pedro Strop. Lynn's Texas debut didn't go as planned, so he'll hope for a more favorable outcome in his next start Friday against the Angels.

Lynn allowed two runs on two hits and two walks while strking out four over five innings Sunday against the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
Lynn's final spring tuneup gives him a nice bounce into the regular season. After giving up a first-inning run, he set down 13 of the next 14 batters. "When you get five up-downs and your pitch count up to the seventies going into the season, that's good," the right-hander told T.R. Sullivan of MLB.com. "For the most part, everything felt good. When I look back at it, just one bad pitch right into a guy's bat path on a bad breaking ball. But other than that, it was a good day, besides two walks in the first inning." Lynn had a 4.86 ERA over 16.2 innings and held opponents to a .169 average. Adding in the work he did in a Triple-A game, Lynn threw 21.2 innings this spring, much more than the seven spring innings he had for the Twins last year after signing March 15. That may have been a factor to his slow start. He'll pitch the third game of the season for the Rangers, next Sunday against the Cubs.

Lynn allowed two runs on four hits and two walks while striking out nine over five-plus innings Tuesday against the Brewers.
EDGE Analysis
Lynn hurled five scoreless frames before tiring, becoming the first Ranger starter to pitch into the sixth inning this spring. He had thrown nine consecutive scoreless innings before running into trouble. If it were the regular season, manager Chris Woodward would probably let Lynn pitch out of his jam, but the right-hander was at his pitch limit. He's struck out 18 batters in 11.2 Cactus League innings.

Lynn is expected to start the third game of the season, March 31, against the Cubs, Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News reports.
EDGE Analysis
The assumed rotation was expected to begin with Mike Minor, then Lynn; however, manager Chris Woodward wants to move Edison Volquez up between Minor and Lynn. That is because the manager wants to avoid using three consecutive starters coming off Tommy John elbow surgery, which could put undue stress on the bullpen.

Lynn allowed one hit and struck out four over four scoreless innings Friday against the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
This was Lynn's second start of the spring and a big departure from his first start last week when he allowed five runs in 2.2 innings. He's struck out nine batters over 6.2 innings.

Lynn allowed five earned runs on three hits and two walks while striking out five over 2.2 innings in Sunday's game against the Dodgers.
EDGE Analysis
This was Lynn's first spring start after throwing simulated games in camp. He cruised through the first two innings, striking out the side in the first, before getting into trouble as his outing was coming to a close. Manager Chris Woodward gave him the opportunity to escape a bases-loaded, two-out jam, but he allowed a double to end his work. The right-hander was a victim of the free-agent squeeze in 2018 and didn't sign with the Twins until mid-March, which hurt his early-season performance. He appeared in only two spring games, then went 0-3 with an 8.37 ERA in April. He recovered to pitch well the rest of the way (4.13 ERA, 135 strikeouts, 133 innings). After signing a three-year deal with the Rangers in December, he will have plenty of ramp up to the regular season.

Lynn signed a three-year, $30 million contract with the Rangers on Wednesday, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lynn should immediately slot in near the top of Texas' lackluster starting rotation. The 31-year-old struggled in 2018 after latching on with the Twins, posting a 5.10 ERA and 1.53 WHIP across 20 starts (102.1 innings) before being traded to the Yankees. He showed improvement after arriving in New York -- notching a 4.14 ERA and 61:14 K:BB across 54.1 innings -- and will look to build off his strong finish to the season in 2019.

Lynn (10-10) was credited with the win in the Yankees' 8-5 victory Saturday over the Red Sox after pitching a three innings and allowing one run on two hits and one walk. He struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
Lynn was called upon in a tie game in the top of the third inning, and earned the win even though he was nicked for one run on an Andrew Benintendi single in the fourth. The 31-year old has been steadier in his last four appearances, allowing five runs on 15 hits and four walks over 19 innings. Lynn holds a 4.77 ERA and 1.53 WHIP this season with a 161:76 K:BB.

Lynn will no longer start Saturday's game against the Red Sox but is expected to be available out of the bullpen, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Friday's victory assured the Yankees of home field during the Wild Card game against Oakland, so manager Aaron Boone has elected to transition Lynn to a relief role, which is where he is expected to be utilized in October. In his place, Domingo German will start Saturday's game, though he will likely only last a few innings. Look for Lynn to take over following German's exit.
