Bachar allowed one run on a hit and two walks and picked up the save in Sunday's 5-4 win against Philadelphia. He struck out two.
EDGE Analysis
The 30-year-old righty worked around three baserunners to notch his first save since Aug. 6. Bachar conceded a run on a Kyle Schwarber single after issuing two free passes earlier in the frame. This save appears to have been an anomaly for Bachar, as usual closer Calvin Faucher was deployed in the sixth (and allowed two runs) in this bullpen game for Miami. The Marlins bullpen has been a puzzle all season, so if the team strays from Faucher as the main saves option, Bachar, with his 4.04 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 9.7 K/9 across 62.1 innings, could enter the mix.

Bachar (5-2) took the loss in Monday's 2-0 defeat to the Nationals, allowing two runs on two hits and no walks in two innings. He struck out two.
EDGE Analysis
Bachar made his first start of the season as an opener, but he didn't fare well over his two frames of work. It's unclear how the Marlins plan on deploying the right-hander going forward, though he'll likely need a few days off before becoming available from the bullpen again. Through 60.1 frames, Bachar owns a 3.58 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 67:27 K:BB.

Bachar will serve as the Marlins' opening pitcher for Monday's game against the Nationals.
EDGE Analysis
Bachar has tossed more than three innings in any of his 46 appearances between the majors and minors this season and hasn't covered more than two frames since the All-Star break, so he'll likely be in line to face just a handful of batters before exiting his first career MLB start. The Marlins are likely to treat Monday's contest as a bullpen day and will rely on a cadre of relievers to fill innings once Bachar is removed from the game.

Bachar allowed one hit and no walks in a scoreless ninth inning to earn the save Wednesday against the Astros. He struck out one.
EDGE Analysis
It was interesting to see closer Calvin Faucher work the eighth inning in a 6-4 game, which allowed Bachar to enter in the ninth and nab his second save of the year. It's difficult to gauge if Bachar will see additional save opportunities going forward, but Faucher likely remains the favorite to handle those situations. That said, Bachar does sport a 3.22 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 57:22 K:BB through 50.1 innings.

The Marlins activated Bachar (personal) from the paternity list Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Bachar was away for the weekend series in Milwaukee to tend to more important matters but will rejoin the Marlins bullpen ahead of their series in St. Louis. Freddy Tarnok was sent down to Triple-A Jacksonville in a corresponding move.

The Marlins placed Bachar on the paternity list Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Bachar will miss up to three games to attend to personal matters. Freddy Tarnok was recalled from Triple-A Jacksonville in a corresponding move. Bachar has a 3.15 ERA and a 48:21 K:BB across 45.2 innings of relief in 2025.

Bachar didn't allow a baserunner or strike out a batter in the ninth inning to earn the save Saturday against the Brewers.
EDGE Analysis
Calvin Faucher and Ronny Henriquez pitched the seventh and eighth innings of a 2-2 game, and Bachar was called upon for the save chance after Miami scored two runs in the bottom of the eighth. The right-hander has been a reliable bullpen option for Miami this year with a 3.29 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 42:21 K:BB over 41 innings, and he hasn't been scored upon in his past 11.1 frames. Bachar isn't likely to see regular save chances but could get the occasional opportunity when Miami's top arms have already been used or are unavailable.

The Marlins recalled Bachar from Triple-A Jacksonville on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Bachar was sent down nearly three weeks ago after allowing 11 runs in 10.2 relief innings in May. He'll get another opportunity after permitting one run with a 6:1 K:BB over three innings with Jacksonville.

The Marlins optioned Bachar to Triple-A Jacksonville on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Bachar gave the Marlins 2.2 innings out of the bullpen and gave up one run during Friday's contest, dropping his ERA to 4.73 through 26.2 frames on the year. In an effort to keep their bullpen stocked with fresh arms, the Marlins will now send him back to Triple-A in favor of Janson Junk, though Bachar could still return to Miami before the end of the year.

Bachar walked one in a scoreless inning of relief Friday to record his third hold of the season in a 7-4 loss to the Nationals.
EDGE Analysis
The 29-year-old righty continues to have trouble finding the plate consistently -- he's got a 7:6 K:BB through nine innings this season -- but Bachar has mostly avoided paying for it, posting a 2.00 ERA and 0.78 WHIP. He's appeared in seven of the Marlins' first 13 games, and the team's bullpen is enough of a mess that Bachar could work his way into the high-leverage mix despite stuff that would be better suited in middle relief.
