Paris (undisclosed) was placed on Triple-A Salt Lake's 7-day injured list Tuesday, Jared Tims of Talkin' Halos reports.
EDGE Analysis
Paris was hurt while attempting to make a diving catch in the outfield July 3, and he hadn't returned to action before he landed on the injured list Tuesday. The nature of his injury hasn't been announced, nor is it clear how long he's expected to be out. Paris was red-hot for the Angels to begin the season but faded after mid-April and was sent down to Salt Lake in late May. He had been heating up in the minors prior to getting hurt, going 8-for-19 with two homers over his previous five games.

The Angels recalled Paris from Triple-A Salt Lake on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
He's taking the roster spot vacated by Kevin Newman, who was placed on the paternity list. Paris has slashed only .188/.340/.363 since being demoted to Salt Lake in late May and will likely be with the big club only until Newman returns later this week.

The Angels optioned Paris to Triple-A Salt Lake on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
The move makes room on the 26-man roster for Chris Taylor, who signed a one-year major-league contract with the Angels on Monday. Paris started the season strongly with a 1.263 OPS in his first 15 games, but since April 16 he has slashed .106/.165/.176 with two steals, one home run, three RBI and a 51.6 percent strikeout rate in 91 plate appearances. The 23-year-old utility man will look to work on his plate discipline in Triple-A.

Paris went 1-for-2 with two walks, two stolen bases and two runs scored in Tuesday's 7-5 win over the Athletics.
EDGE Analysis
Paris has started just two of the last six games, as he's struggled to maintain a decent share of playing time while Matthew Lugo's been swinging a hot bat. Prior to Tuesday, Paris had gone 1-for-22 over his previous seven games dating back to May 8. The 23-year-old is slashing .198/.279/.397 with a 10:53 BB:K, seven steals, six home runs, 11 RBI and 19 runs scored over 40 contests this season. The poor plate discipline and overall lack of hitting is likely to keep Paris in a part-time role, particularly if Lugo continues to command a majority of the starts in center field.

Paris isn't in the lineup for Friday's game against the Dodgers, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.
EDGE Analysis
Paris will sit down for a second consecutive contest after going 1-for-19 across his last six games. Matthew Lugo will pick up another start in center field and bat eighth as a result.

Paris is not in the Angels' starting lineup against the Padres on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Paris started the season strongly, but over his past 23 games he's slashed .100/.149/.171 with one home run, three RBI and a 52.7 percent strikeout rate. He'll begin Wednesday's game in the dugout while Matthew Lugo starts in center field and bats eighth against Padres right-hander Randy Vasquez.

Paris went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, an additional run and a walk Wednesday in a 5-4 win against the Blue Jays.
EDGE Analysis
Paris went deep five times in his first 10 games this season, but he entered Wednesday without a long ball across his subsequent 21 contests. That drought ended in the seventh inning, when Paris launched a 410-foot solo shot to center field. For good measure, the infielder/outfielder drew a four-pitch walk to lead off the ninth, setting the stage for what ended up as a walk-off win for his team. Paris slumped badly in middle and late April, leading to his current poor .228 batting average on the season, but he's showing positive signs in May, slashing .313/.389/.563 with three RBI through five games, albeit with a 38.9 percent strikeout rate.

Paris went 1-for-3 with two RBI in a 5-2 win against Detroit on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Paris plated a pair of runs with a sixth-inning single for his first RBI since April 9 -- a span of 18 games. After a scorching start to the season, the 23-tear-old went into a major funk, batting just .111 with a 48.3 percent strikeout rate during his slump. Paris has shown small signs of emerging from the cold spell over his past two contests, going 2-for-6 with a double, though he's also struck out three times. Despite the lack of production, Paris has managed to hold onto a near-everyday spot in the Angels' lineup, but it remains to be seen whether his role will change when Yoan Moncada (thumb) is ready to return from the injured list.
