Wright was promoted to High-A Florida on Tuesday, Sam Dykstra of MiLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The No. 5 overall pick breezed through his first three professional appearances with the Braves' rookie-level Gulf Coast League affiliate, so he'll skip a level and try his hand against Florida State League competition. As a polished right-hander who played at one of the top college programs at Vanderbilt, Wright could have a quicker path to the big leagues than many of his fellow pitchers that were first-round selections in June's first-year player draft. Wright probably won't receive much more usage during the remainder of the 2017 campaign, however, as he had already amassed 103.1 innings with Vanderbilt this season prior to being drafted.

Wright signed with the Braves on Friday, receiving a $7 million signing bonus that was the highest since MLB adopted the new draft slotting system in 2012, David O'Brien of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
EDGE Analysis
His deal tops the $6.7 million Kris Bryant received from the Cubs four years ago. Wright slid to Atlanta at No. 5 after being projected as a possible first overall selection in this year's draft, and while the Vanderbilt right-hander will begin his pro career in the Gulf Coast League, he should quickly get a promotion to Low-A Rome once he's gotten his feet wet, with the organization looking to cap him at about 30 innings after he threw a career-high 103.1 innings this season in college. The Braves' farm system is loaded with high-upside arms, but Wright could move up the ladder quickly given his strong command and sharp arsenal.
