Tucker (ankle) is likely to return to the lineup for Sunday's Grapefruit League finale, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Tucker is considered day-to-day with a minor ankle sprain that he suffered while playing for Team USA in the World Baseball Classic. Even if he is held out of the lineup for Sunday's finale, there's a very good chance the left-handed-hitting outfielder is back in the lineup for Opening Day against the White Sox on Thursday.

Tucker (ankle) could return to the Astros' Grapefruit League lineup Saturday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The original aim was Sunday, so this news is another positive indication that Tucker's right ankle sprain is nearly in the rearview. He suffered the injury last weekend while sliding into second base in Team USA's win over Venezuela during the WBC. The dynamic 26-year-old outfielder should be fully ready for Opening Day.

Tucker (ankle) hopes to return to Grapefruit League action Sunday and expects to be ready for Opening Day, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Tucker sprained his right ankle last weekend during Team USA's win over Venezuela in the World Baseball Classic. The injury isn't considered serious, and he returned to Astros camp Thursday without a limp. There doesn't seem to be much concern about the star outfielder's readiness for the beginning of the 2023 regular season.

Astros general manager Dana Brown said Wednesday that Tucker's ankle sprain is considered minor, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Tucker tweaked his ankle while playing for Team USA in the World Baseball Classic, but he was examined by Astros personnel at their spring training complex Wednesday and doesn't appear to be at much risk of missing Opening Day. It's not clear if he'll be able to play in any of the Astros' remaining four Grapefruit League games, however.

Tucker is scheduled to report to the Astros' facility in West Palm Beach, Fla. on Wednesday to have his ankle looked at, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Tucker was unable to play for Team USA in Tuesday's World Baseball Classic loss to Team Japan because of ankle soreness. Astros manager Dusty Baker told Rome that the outfielder was doing "better" a day later, but the skipper wanted the Houston training staff to look at the ankle first before determining Tucker's next steps. Tucker should be considered day-to-day at this point, but there should be further clarity on the extent of injury by the weekend.

Tucker (ankle) is not in Team USA's starting lineup for the World Baseball Classic championship game Tuesday against Team Japan.
EDGE Analysis
Tucker fouled a ball off his ankle in Saturday's quarterfinal game Saturday versus Team Venezuela and then sat out of Sunday's semifinal win over Team Cuba. He only suffered a bruise and a bit of swelling, so perhaps he'll be available off the bench Tuesday night in Miami. Cedric Mullins, Mike Trout and Mookie Betts are starting across the outfield. Kyle Schwarber is at DH.

Tucker is uncertain to play for Team United States in Tuesday's World Baseball Classic final versus Team Japan due to a sore ankle, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Tucker was removed from Saturday's game against Venezuela after fouling a ball off his ankle. He didn't play Sunday versus Cuba, although he might not have started, anyway, since they were starting a left-hander. It doesn't seem like Tucker's ankle issue is anything to worry about, although the Astros probably wouldn't mind if he sat out Tuesday as a precaution.

Tucker blasted a solo home run -- his first of the tournament -- in the fifth inning to give Team USA a 5-2 lead. Overall, he's collected five hits in 15 at-bats with three extra-base knocks during the tournament. Tucker lost his arbitration hearing to the Astros,Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Tucker and the team were at a significant gap in salary requests, as Tucker asked for $7.5 million while the Astros suggested $5 million. After losing his case, Tucker will be set to make the latter amount in 2023. He'll be entering his fourth full big-league season and posted 30 home runs with 25 stolen bases in 150 games in 2022.

Tucker went 3-for-5 with a three-run home run, a solo home run and a walk during Friday's 6-5 loss to the Phillies in Game 1 of the World Series.
EDGE Analysis
Tucker had a perfect start to Game 1 with two homers and four RBI in his first two at bats, but the Astros were unable to hold their five-run lead. The 25-year old accounted for four of the five runs on the night for Houston, achieving a multi-homer game for the first time since May 17 against the Red Sox. Tucker came into the World Series batting just .214 with one RBI across 28 at bats in the postseason, but he raised his average to .273 and recorded his fifth RBI in Game 1. He is slated to face Zack Wheeler in Game 2 -- Tucker has not faced Wheeler in his career.
