Jansen was released by the Giants on Tuesday, Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Jensen was hitting just .196/.251/.317 across 52 games with Triple-A Sacramento prior to being cut loose. The 30-year-old will now look to latch on elsewhere as organizational depth.

Jensen was moved from the Giants' spring training and assigned to minor-league camp Monday, Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Jensen made plenty of plate appearances off the bench this spring, as he went 8-for-26 (.308) and drew 10 walks over 21 games. Of his eight hits, five were home runs. However, Jensen last appeared in the majors in 2016 as a member of the Diamondbacks, appearing in 17 games and hitting .194 with a .717 OPS. He'll likely provide organizational depth at Triple-A Sacramento this season.

Jensen went deep for the fifth time this spring with a solo home run in his only at-bat as a pinch-hitter in Monday's loss to the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
The corner outfielder has opened eyes with a league-high five homers in just 11 at-bats this spring. The low number of at-bats can be attributed to his main usage off the bench (like he was used Monday), which is also a testament to low-level of pitching he has been facing late in these exhibition contests. Not to take anything away from the 29-year-old, but fantasy owners shouldn't overreact to these impressive numbers from a free-swinging power hitter. Barring a couple of serious injuries to the Giants' current starting position players, Jensen's best-case-scenario would be playing his way into a bench role on the 25-man roster.

The Giants signed Jensen to a minor-league contract Tuesday, Chris Cotillo of SB Nation reports.
EDGE Analysis
The outfielder/first baseman spent the 2017 campaign in the Nippon Professional Baseball league with the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks, appearing in only six games before the Japanese club released him. The 29-year-old Jensen previously saw time in the majors with the Diamondbacks in 2016, but will likely have to prove himself in the high minors before receiving another cup of coffee in the big leagues.

Jensen's rights were sold to the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks of Japan on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
The 28-year-old utility man finally broke through to the majors in 2016 after spending seven-plus years toiling in the minors. This move to Japan gives him a more stable situation, as he would have likely spent all or most of 2017 in the minors if he stayed stateside.

Jensen went 1-for-3 with a homer, a walk and two runs against the Dodgers on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
He's homered twice along with a pair of singles in 14 at-bats since being called up. Jensen racked up some eye-popping stats in Triple-A -- chiefly his 30 homers and 120 RBI -- but as a 28-year-old who strikes out prolifically, starts only rarely, and had spent his entire career in the minors until this month, he doesn't merit much fantasy interest.

Jensen's contract was selected from Triple-A Reno on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
The 28-year-old journeyman outfielder will get his first career call to the big leagues this September. He took advantage of the favorable hitting conditions in the Pacific Coast League, hitting .289/.350/.546 with 30 homers and 120 RBI with Reno this year. His 30.5 percent K-rate and .373 BABIP suggest that those numbers are fairly irrelevant, with regards to how he will perform against big league pitching. Look for him to play sparingly down the stretch, primarily serving as strong option off the bench against lefties.

Jensen was designated for assignment by the Dodgers on Friday. Jensen was acquired from the Marlins last month, but the Dodgers are apparently willing to expose him to waivers regardless. Jensen will likely open the 2015 campaign with Triple-A Albuquerque if he is not claimed by another team.

Jensen was acquired by the Dodgers on Monday. Jensen was traded away from the Marlins for cash considerations and a player to be named later. He spent the majority of last season at Triple-A New Orleans where he played in 133 games while accounting for 27 home runs and 92 runs batted in on a .260 batting average.

Kyle Jensen hit a two-run homer off Drake Britton in the top of the ninth to lead the Marlins to a 5-4 win over a Red Sox split-squad on Tuesday. That makes him 4-for-8 this spring. Jensen, 25, hit 28 homers in the minors last season, but it came with just a .235 average and 144 strikeouts in 447 at-bats between Double- and Triple-A. He's probably not going to make the Marlins unless he's a starter, and that seems like quite a long shot. Still, with the way Miami tends to shuffle through players, he could get a look later on.
