It did not feel like we would ever get here, but finally, Cole Hamels was traded from the Texas Rangers. Very little in baseball has been more up and down than Hamels' performances this season. However, the Rangers finally found a trade partner in the Chicago Cubs, who were willing to give them the return they desired. Chicago Cubs starting pitcher Kyle Hendricks pitched a gem on Monday versus the Giants. Over 8 1/3 innings, Hendricks allowed five hits, one run (zero earned), one walk and struck out eight. Hendricks was coming off of three rough starts and it's a good sign to see him getting back on the right track. Hendricks has a favorable matchup on Sunday versus the Padres.

Chicago Cubs starting pitcher Kyle Hendricks pitched a gem of a game Monday in San Francisco, but would not get a win. Hendricks went 8 1/3 innings and gave up five hits, struck out eight, and walked one (his final batter). He gave up one unearned run. Many fantasy owners have been waiting for a performance like this from Hendricks, so maybe he will turn the tide in the second half of the season.
