Freeland (4-7) took the loss Tuesday as the Rockies fell 3-0 to Atlanta, giving up two runs (one earned) on six hits over five innings. He struck out five without walking a batter.
EDGE Analysis
It was a sharp performance from the left-hander, who tossed 55 of 79 pitches for strikes, but he had the misfortune of being matched up with NL Cy Young favorite Chris Sale. Freeland has allowed three runs or less in six of his last seven starts, posting a 4.03 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 30:9 K:BB through 38 innings over that stretch. He'll look for a better result in his next trip to the mound, which lines up to come on the road this weekend in Milwaukee.

Freeland (4-6) picked up the win over the Marlins on Wednesday, allowing two runs on six hits and one walk over six innings while striking out five.
EDGE Analysis
Freeland was efficient throughout much of the contest, with his biggest mistake coming in the second inning when he left a sinker over the heart of the plate for Derek Hill to open the frame, which the outfielder deposited into the stands in left field for a solo homer. The lefty would surrender one more run in the fourth on a Griffin Conine single but was still able to make it through six frames for his second consecutive quality start. Freeland has allowed multiple runs in all five of his starts this month and currently holds a 5.19 ERA to go along with a 19:9 K:BB.

Freeland (3-6) took the loss against the Yankees on Friday, allowing three runs (two earned) on five hits and two walks with three strikeouts over 6.2 innings.
EDGE Analysis
Freeland pitched well but was burned by two homers while the Rockies couldn't muster any offense against Carlos Rodon. The southpaw threw a season-high 106 pitches and worked into the seventh inning for the fifth time in his past 10 starts. On the season, he owns a 5.70 ERA, 1.49 WHIP and 62:23 K:BB across 79 innings and lines up to face the Marlins at home next week.

Freeland took the loss against the Padres on Saturday, allowing five runs on eight hits and three walks over five innings while striking out three.
EDGE Analysis
Freeland went 1-2-3 through the opening frame before surrendering three consecutive hits to start the second, leading to two runs coming home for San Diego. The lefty would then allow two more runs in the fourth and another in the fifth while matching his season high with three walks in the contest. Freeland has now given up at least three runs in each of his last three starts and currently holds a 7.43 ERA in August to go along with an 11:6 K:BB. Saturday marked only his second loss since April 14.

Freeland (finger) has been cleared to start Saturday's game against the Padres at Coors Field.
EDGE Analysis
Freeland said after his most recent start Sunday versus Atlanta that he developed a blister on his pinky finger during the outing, which likely played a part in him being lifted midway through the fourth inning after just 65 pitches. The southpaw was apparently able to complete his between-starts bullpen session without issue, so he's not expected to be limited by the blister when he takes the hill Saturday. Freeland owns a 5.75 ERA and 1.49 WHIP on the season but has surprisingly pitched effectively at Coors Field, logging a 3.06 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 23:8 K:BB over 32.1 innings in Colorado.

Freeland acknowledged after his start in Sunday's 9-8 win over Atlanta that he developed a blister on his left pinky finger early in the fourth inning of the game, MLB.com reports. "My curveball was not great -- I kept pulling it, couldn't land it where I wanted it to land, and had some very uncompetitive attempts with the curveball," Freeland said after the game. "I could feel my thumb hitting it [the pinky] from the start of the game. There was one where I felt it clipped it clean."
EDGE Analysis
Freeland took a no-decision and was charged with three earned runs before he was lifted with two outs in the fourth inning. The southpaw didn't suggest that the blister was anything that will put him at risk of landing on the injured list, but the Rockies have yet to officially confirm that Freeland will be able to make his next start. Freeland tentatively lines up to take the hill this weekend against the Padres, though with an off day on tap Thursday, the Rockies could skip his turn and temporarily get by with a four-man rotation if there's any concern about his ability to pitch through the finger issue.

Freeland allowed three runs on four hits and a walk while striking out one over 3.2 innings in a no-decision versus Atlanta on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Freeland was limited to 65 pitches (40 strikes), though he gave up a solo home run to Austin Riley and a two-run homer to Travis d'Arnaud in a shaky start. This was the third time in four outings Freeland failed to complete five innings -- he's allowed 13 runs over 19.1 innings in that span. For the season, the southpaw has a 5.75 ERA, 1.49 WHIP and 56:18 K:BB through 67.1 innings over 13 starts. He's projected for a home start versus the Padres in his next outing.

Freeland allowed three runs on four hits and two walks while striking out seven over 4.2 innings in a no-decision versus the Mets on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Freeland was pulled after giving up a two-out RBI single to Brandon Nimmo in the fifth inning. Justin Lawrence got J.D. Martinez to ground out to keep the Rockies ahead 4-3, and they led the rest of the way, with Freeland an out short of getting the win. This was just the second time in six starts since the beginning of July that Freeland has allowed more than three runs. For the year, he still has an unenviable 5.65 ERA, 1.49 WHIP and 55:17 K:BB over 63.2 innings across 12 starts. The southpaw is projected for a tough home start versus Atlanta this weekend.

Freeland (3-4) picked up the win over the Angels on Wednesday, allowing one run on six hits over seven innings while striking out six.
EDGE Analysis
Freeland got off to a strong start, allowing just two singles over the first four innings before surrendering a solo homer to Logan O'Hoppe in the fifth. However, the lefty was able to get through the frame without taking any further damage, and went on to log his sixth quality start in his last seven outings. Freeland has also won three of his last four starts, posting six or more strikeouts three times over that stretch. Furthermore, Wednesday's performance marked the first outing this season in which Freeland didn't walk a batter.

Freeland (2-4) allowed six runs on eight hits and a walk while striking out eight over four innings to take the loss Friday versus the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
Freeland gave up at least a run in three of his four innings, including a pair of home runs. Considering he had a quality start at home against the Giants just last Saturday, this was a bit of a disappointing performance. The southpaw has a 6.23 ERA, 1.60 WHIP and 42:15 K:BB through 52 innings over 10 starts this season. He'll look for a bounce-back effort on the road versus the Angels next week.
