Finnegan was saddled with a blown save after allowing three runs on three hits, walking and striking out none, during Monday's 6-4 loss to the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
It was perhaps the worst outing of the season for Finnegan, allowing a season-high three runs and three hits. The 33-year-old has flirted with danger lately, allowing seven hits in his last five games, but this was the first time that he allowed a run credited to him over that stretch. The right-hander is now 18-for-23 on save opportunities for the season.

Finnegan was charged with a blown save during Tuesday's extra-inning loss to the Mets, allowing no runs on one hit with one strikeout over 1.1 innings.
EDGE Analysis
Finnegan stepped into the contest in the bottom of the eighth with a one-run lead, two outs and an inherited runner on second base. The 33-year-old closer surrendered a hit to Pete Alonso that plated the runner on second, but Alonso was thrown out attempting to stretch the hit out into a double. Still, the hit tied the game and resulted in Finnegan's fourth blown save of the campaign. In his last 10 appearances, Finnegan has allowed four runs (two earned) on 10 hits and a 6:1 K:BB across 10 innings. He's converted on seven of his nine save chances during that stretch.

Finnegan struck out one in a scoreless ninth inning Friday to record his 18th save of the season in a 2-0 win over the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
He had to navigate around a CJ Abrams throwing error, but Finnegan was up to the task. The right-hander is tied with Carlos Estevez for second in the league in saves behind Robert Suarez's 20, and Finnegan has been especially sharp since the beginning of May, posting a 1.64 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 7:1 K:BB over his last 11 innings while converting nine of his 10 saves chances.

Finnegan earned the save in Wednesday's 2-0 win over the Cubs. He allowed two hits while striking out one in a scoreless ninth inning.
EDGE Analysis
Finnegan found himself in trouble in the ninth, allowing a pair of singles that brought Kyle Tucker to the plate as the potential tying run. However, Finnegan managed to coax a ground out off the bat of Tucker, closing out Washington's shutout victory. Finnegan improved to 17-for-20 in save chances this season. He's posted a 2.49 ERA with a 1.34 WHIP and 19:8 K:BB across 21.2 innings.

Finnegan allowed one run, hit one batsman and didn't surrender a hit or a walk over one inning to earn the save in Friday's 9-7 win over the Diamondbacks.
EDGE Analysis
Finnegan plunked Corbin Carroll, who stole second and then finished his trip around the bases on consecutive groundouts. Finnegan appears to be recovered from shoulder fatigue that kept him out of game action for a week. He's allowed three runs (one earned) over his last three innings. For the season, the Nationals' closer has a 2.61 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 18:8 K:BB while converting 16 of 19 save opportunities over 20.2 innings.

Finnegan (shoulder) struck out a batter and allowed an unearned run on one hit and one walk in an inning of relief during Thursday's 9-3 extra-inning win over the Mariners.
EDGE Analysis
Finnegan made his first appearance in a week, as a bout of shoulder fatigue prompted the Nationals to give him some rest. The right-hander might have been a candidate to pitch earlier in the series, but a 9-1 loss Tuesday and a 9-0 win Wednesday presented no high-leverage opportunities. Thursday's appearance was fairly pressure-free as well, coming in the bottom of the 10th inning after Washington put up seven runs in the top of the frame. Finnegan should continue to dominate save opportunities for Washington after converting 15 of 18 chances prior to his brief absence, although his name will likely circulate in trade rumors once again this summer with the Nats far from playoff contention.

Finnegan was unavailable for Saturday's game against the Giants due to shoulder fatigue, Spencer Nusbaum of The Washington Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Finnegan hasn't pitched since blowing the save against Atlanta on Thursday. He reported soreness in his shoulder following his last outing, but manager Dave Martinez said that imaging on his shoulder came back negative, and the 33-year-old righty is considered day-to-day for now.

Finnegan allowed an unearned run on two hits over one inning, taking a blown save in Thursday's 8-7 extra-inning win over Atlanta.
EDGE Analysis
An error allowed Atlanta to continue its push in the ninth inning, and Matt Olson ultimately doubled home Luke Williams to force extras. Finnegan has made 19 appearances, and he's 15-for-18 in save chances after this outing. That speaks to the Nationals' reliance on close wins, and while Finnegan hasn't been elite, he's had plenty of opportunities to close out games. He hasn't been scored on in back-to-back appearances yet, but he also hasn't stretched a scoreless streak beyond 4.2 innings from April 6-15. Finnegan has a 2.41 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 17:7 K:BB over 18.2 innings this season as Washington's closer.

EDGE Analysis
All 10 pitches Finnegan tossed resulted in strikes as he was able to successfully defend the Nationals' two-run lead in the ninth. He's converted on each of his last six save opportunities, and his 15 saves are tied with Andres Munoz and Robert Suarez for most in the majors. Finnegan has a 2.55 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 17:7 K:BB across 17.2 innings this season.

EDGE Analysis
The Nationals brought Finnegan in for the ninth inning to protect a one-run lead. He was able to work around a Jackson Holliday single to secure the save while tossing 15 pitches (nine strikes). Finnegan has earned a save in each of his last five outings, and his 14 saves are second-best in the majors behind Robert Suarez (15).
