Even though he has gone 0-5 over his last five outings, Crawford has pitched to a 3.68 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 24:8 K:BB across 29.1 innings during that stretch. He is currently slated to make his next start against the Yankees on the road this weekend.

The right-hander now owns a 4.25 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 133:36 K:BB in 142 innings (25 starts) this season. He lines up to face the Diamondbacks next weekend.

The right-hander was actually perfect through five innings as he retired the first 16 batters he faced, but the wheels came off quickly for Crawford in the sixth as he threatened to squander a 6-0 lead. The Boston bullpen was able to put out the fire, however. Crawford has been tagged for at least four runs in five straight starts since the All-Star break, stumbling to a 9.75 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 19:6 K:BB through 24 innings over that stretch while serving up an incredible 13 homers. The fact that he was able to keep the ball in the yard Tuesday offers some hope he could be turning things around, but he'll still be a risky play in his next outing, which lines up to come on the road this weekend in Baltimore.

Crawford (7-9) allowed six runs on five hits and four walks while striking out three over 3.2 innings to take the loss versus the Royals on Wednesday.

The only positive from Wednesday's start was that Crawford allowed just one home run after giving up at least three long balls in each of his three previous starts. The right-hander has allowed 22 runs over 18.2 innings since the All-Star break, and the four walks he issued Wednesday matched his season high. Across those three outings, Crawford has yielded an incredible 12 homers, with the Rangers launching four long balls Friday night -- including two Corey Seager solo shots. Despite allowing a league-leading 26 home runs this season, Crawford has pitched to a 3.81 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 122:30 K:BB across 127.2 innings this season. He looks to keep the ball in the yard in his next start, currently slated to be versus the Royals on the road next week.
