Arizona Diamondbacks starter Kris Medlen gave up seven runs on nine hits and four walks across four innings in Friday's loss to the Astros. Medlen was making his first major league start since 2016, in place of the injured Robbie Ray. It did not go as Medlen envisioned, as the Astros got to him early, plating four runs on five hits in the first two frames. Kris Medlen Scheduled to Start on Friday rotoballer.com Thu 5/3/18 2:32 PM

Arizona Diamondback starting pitcher Kris Medlen is scheduled to pitch against the Houston Astros on Friday. He'll be taking the place of Robbie Ray (oblique) in the starting rotation. Medlen has not pitched in the MLB since 2016 and has a 6.00 ERA in 18 innings at Triple-A this season. He's not worth adding in any fantasy leagues, especially against Houston.

Kris Medlen Likely to Take Robbie Ray's Spot in Rotation rotoballer.com Mon 4/30/18 4:23 PM

With Arizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Robbie Ray going down with an oblique injury, it appears as if Kris Medlen will get the first shot at his rotation spot while he is on the DL. Medlen is yet to be confirmed as the starter but was recently scratched from his start in Triple-A. Medlen hasn't appeared in the MLB since 2016 and while his career 3.25 ERA looks nice on paper, only 75 of his 173 appearances has come as a starter. He should be left on the waiver wire going forward.
