Diamondbacks optioned C Konrad Schmidt to Triple-A Reno.
He was hitless in just four at-bats in his short stint with the big club. Miguel Montero (groin) is expected back in the lineup Monday, so the D'Backs no longer need an extra catcher.

The Diamondbacks are expected to recall catcher Konrad Schmidt from Triple-A Reno prior to Tuesday's game.
He'll provide some extra insurance behind the plate while Miguel Montero nurses a groin injury. Schmidt, 27, is hitting .274/.336/.419 with three homers and a .755 OPS in 31 games at the Triple-A level this year. Mike Zagurski will likely be sent down in a corresponding roster move.
