The Dodgers reassigned Hiura (hand) to minor-league camp Monday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hiura saw action in eight games in the majors with the Rockies last season but never appeared to be a likely candidate to break camp with a loaded Dodgers squad. The 29-year-old exited his most recent Cactus League appearance Saturday after being hit on the hand by a pitch, but assuming he avoided any structural damage, he should be ready to go when Triple-A Oklahoma City opens its season in late March.

Hiura was removed from Saturday's Cactus League game against the Cubs after getting hit on the hand by a pitch, Jack Vita of the Los Angeles Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hiura was pulled immediately after taking a 97-mph sinker off his hand in the fifth inning. The severity of his injury is unknown, but the Dodgers should provide more information in the near future and will likely give him at least a day or two off to recover.

Hiura signed a minor-league contract with the Dodgers on Thursday and received an invitation to spring training, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hiura spent most of last season with the Rockies' Triple-A affiliate, where he slashed .272/.369/.507 with 21 homers, 67 RBI and 62 runs scored across 445 plate appearances. There doesn't seem to be room for him on the Dodgers' star-studded roster, so he will almost certainly be used as organizational depth at Triple-A Oklahoma City.

The Rockies outrighted Hiura to Triple-A Albuquerque on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
It's unclear whether Hiura plans to accept the outright assignment or elect free agency. The veteran infielder had a .611 OPS in eight games for the Rockies before being bumped from their 40-man roster.

The Rockies designated Hiura for assignment Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Hiura's playing time had been scarce lately, so it's not a surprise he'll be pushed off the roster to make room for the return of Michael Toglia, who was recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque. The veteran infielder had a .611 OPS in eight games for the Rockies and will now go through the waivers process.

Hiura is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against Atlanta.
EDGE Analysis
Hiura has produced a weak .222/.333/.278 slash line in 21 plate appearances since being promoted from Triple-A Albuquerque on May 31. He'll be on the bench for the third time in the Rockies' last four matchups with right-handed starting pitchers and looks like he'll have to settle for a part-time role for the time being.

EDGE Analysis
It's the second straight game on the bench for Hiura, who has gone 2-for-11 with a double and two runs in five games since being added to the big-league roster last weekend. Kyle Farmer is starting at first base Sunday, with he and Hiura each receiving four starts at the position in Colorado's past eight games.

Hiura will start at first base and bat seventh in Wednesday's game against the Marlins.
EDGE Analysis
After being called up from Triple-A Albuquerque over the weekend, Hiura is now slated to get his third start in the Rockies' last four games. Hiura has gone 1-for-6 with a double and two runs since joining the Rockies and will likely need to continue hitting to solidify a spot in the everyday lineup.
