Maeda did not factor into the decision against Toronto on Thursday, hurling six innings and giving up two runs on four hits and one walk while striking out nine.
EDGE Analysis
Maeda limited the Blue Jays to one extra-base hit -- a sixth-inning home run by Vladimir Guerrero Jr. -- while whiffing nine for his second straight start. He effectively controlled the zone and kept Toronto hitters guessing, tossing strikes on 57 of 85 pitches and inducing 19 swinging strikes. Maeda now owns a 4.13 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 146:44 K:BB in 133 innings this season and will next head south to face the Padres on Wednesday.

Maeda didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 8-3 win over Atlanta, allowing three runs on five hits and four walks over 4.2 innings while striking out nine.
EDGE Analysis
It was another inefficient performance for Maeda, who's completed five innings only twice in eight outings since the All-Star break. The right-hander will take a 4.18 ERA and 137:43 K:BB through 127 innings into his next start Thursday, at home against the Blue Jays.

Maeda (8-8) earned the win by pitching seven scoreless innings, allowing just three hits while striking out six in Saturday's 4-0 win over the Diamondbacks.
EDGE Analysis
Maeda had given up 14 runs (13 earned) over his previous three appearances, spanning 11 innings, but he was much better Saturday. The seven innings were Maeda's longest outing since July 6, when he tossed 7.2 innings against the Padres. The 31-year-old lowered his ERA to 4.12 with a 1.09 WHIP and 128:39 K:BB across 122.1 innings this season. Maeda is expected to draw the Braves in a road start Friday.

Maeda did not factor into the decision against the Padres on Sunday, completing 2.2 innings and allowing five runs on five hits and one walk while striking out four.
EDGE Analysis
Maeda pitched two perfect frames before falling apart in a five-run third inning that included a grand slam off the bat of Eric Hosmer. The outing marked the first time Maeda has completed less than four innings in a start this season and extended his streak of winless appearances to 12. It was also the second consecutive start in which the Japanese hurler allowed five earned runs, though it bears mentioning that the previous outing was in the altitude of Colorado. Maeda now sports a 4.37 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 122:39 K:BB in 115.1 innings this season and is next scheduled to face the Diamondbacks on Saturday in Los Angeles.

Maeda (7-8) took the loss against the Rockies on Monday, giving up six runs (five earned) on seven hits over four innings, striking out five and walking two as the Dodgers fell 9-1.
EDGE Analysis
Maeda only gave up one run through his first four innings, but things got away from him in the fifth as the Rockies tagged him for five more runs in that frame and chased him from the contest. The 31-year-old right-hander is still sporting respectable numbers overall, as he's got a 4.07 ERA, a 1.10 WHIP and a 118:38 K:BB through 112.2 innings. He's scheduled to take the mound next at home against the Padres on Saturday.

Maeda (7-7) took the loss against the Angels on Tuesday, hurling 4.1 innings and giving up three runs on four hits and two walks while striking out seven.
EDGE Analysis
Maeda held the Angels to one run through four innings but surrendered a long home run to Mike Trout in the fifth, which was quickly followed by a Justin Upton double. Maeda was then pulled from the game -- due in part to tossing 95 pitches on a warm Los Angeles night -- and charged with another run when Upton came around to score. The 31-year-old has now lost five straight decisions to even his record at 7-7 despite allowing three runs or fewer in four of the five losses. He'll carry a 3.81 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 113:36 K:BB into high altitude when he faces the Rockies on Monday in his next scheduled start.

Manager Dave Roberts said that Maeda will likely pitch an inning in relief Friday or Saturday against the Marlins before slotting back into the rotation Tuesday against the Angels, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
Maeda tossed two scoreless, no-hit innings in his start in Wednesday's 7-2 win over the Phillies, with his early departure coming as the result of a lengthy rain delay. Since he only tossed 35 pitches in the outing, Maeda won't need more than a day or two before being ready to contribute out of the bullpen. The relief appearance will essentially be the equivalent of a normal between-starts side session for the 31-year-old, who shouldn't face any strict workload limits when he rejoins the rotation next week.

Maeda allowed no hits and two walks while striking out three across two scoreless innings Wednesday against the Phillies. He did not factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Maeda uncharacteristically struggled with his control in his rain-shortened effort Wednesday. He handed out two free passes in as many innings and got just 19 of his 35 pitches across the plate for strikes. Maeda is currently scheduled to draw his next start Tuesday against the Angels.

Maeda (7-6) gave up three runs on four hits and one walk while striking out seven in 5.2 innings Friday in Boston.
EDGE Analysis
He gave up a couple home runs but was still just one out away from notching a quality start in a very difficult matchup. Eduardo Rodriguez dominated for Boston, so Maeda was saddled with the loss. His next start comes Wednesday in Philadelphia.

Maeda (7-5) took the loss Saturday, giving up three runs on four hits and a walk over 7.2 innings while striking out six as the Dodgers were downed 3-1 by the Padres.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander was locked in a scoreless pitcher's duel with rookie Chris Paddack through six innings, but Maeda then served up homers to Hunter Renfroe in the seventh and Manuel Margot in the eighth. Maeda has now lost three straight decisions, with his last win coming May 31, and he'll carry a 3.76 ERA and 94:31 K:BB through 95.2 innings into the All-Star break.
