Tomlinson signed a minor-league contract with the Rockies on June 1 and was assigned to the organization's rookie-level Arizona League affiliate.
EDGE Analysis
Tomlinson had been out of baseball since the Rockies released him from his minor-league deal last June, so he'll presumably be put through a de facto spring training in the Arizona League before reporting to Triple-A Albuquerque. The 30-year-old will give the Rockies an experienced utility man at the upper levels of the minors; he previously appeared in 273 big-league games with the Giants between 2015 and 2018.

Tomlinson was released by the Rockies on Monday, Steve Adams of MLB Trade Rumors reports.
EDGE Analysis
He signed a minor-league deal with Colorado over the offseason and it's not surprising that the two sides parted ways after Tomlinson was excluded from the 60-man roster. It's possible Tomlinson could catch on elsewhere, as most teams have not announced a full 60-man roster just yet.

Tomlinson signed a minor-league deal with Colorado on Monday, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Tomlinson has parts of four years of big-league experience to his name, though he hasn't done much of note. In 687 career plate appearances for the Giants from 2015 to 2018, he hit a modest .265/.331/.332 with three homers. He endured a difficult 2019 campaign, hitting just .242/.301/.301 in 99 Triple-A games in the Diamondbacks' and Mariners' systems.

Tomlinson signed a minor-league contract with the Mariners on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Tomlinson slashed .218/.320/.276 in 30 games with the Diamondbacks' Triple-A affiliate in Reno before he was released May 12. As he changes organizations, the 28-year-old will stick around in the Pacific Coast League and provide some depth in the infield for Tacoma.

Tomlinson was released by the Diamondbacks on Sunday, Jessica Kleinschmidt of NBC Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Tomlinson was slashing .213/.314/.270 with five RBI over 31 games, but he'll search for a new team following this latest move. He hasn't surfaced in the big leagues since the 2018 season with San Francisco.

Tomlinson was assigned to minor-league camp on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Tomlinson went 2-for-25 in the Cactus League, which can't have helped his already slim chances at breaking camp in the big leagues. He's not on the 40-man roster, so he may not be the first choice to fill in when an infielder gets injured.

The Giants recalled Tomlinson from Triple-A Sacramento ahead of Sunday's game against the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
As has been the case in his previous stints with the big club this season, the 28-year-old will be in line for a utility role during the final month of the campaign. Tomlinson, who has slashed .226/.284/.290 across 134 plate appearances with the Giants this season, likely won't pick up more than one or two starts per week.

Tomlinson was optioned to Triple-A Sacramento on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
In sporadic playing time with the Giants this season, the utility man has hit just .226/.284/.290. He has multiple routes back to the Giants' roster but hasn't done much to suggest he'll be a viable fantasy option when he returns.

Tomlinson was promoted from Triple-A Sacramento to the major leagues Monday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
Tomlinson was banished to the minors Thursday, but after Pablo Sandoval (hamstring) and Johnny Cueto (elbow) were both placed on the disabled list, Tomlinson will have another opportunity to prove he belongs. He figures to take on a utility role with Joe Panik returning from an injury and resuming his role as the everyday second baseman.

The Giants optioned Tomlinson to Triple-A Sacramento on Thursday, Kerry Crowley of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Tomlinson started three games after being recalled July 15, but he will head back to Sacramento with third baseman Evan Longoria coming off the disabled list. Tomlinson will likely be the top option should the Giants need to add an infielder to the roster in the near future, and he will be back with the big club in September at the latest.
