Maxwell has been added to Tuesday's starting lineup. Maxwell was not in manager Bruce Bochy's initial lineup, but with Angel Pagan (finger) scratched, Gregor Blanco is now set to man center field with Maxwell in right. The 31-year-old Maxwell will bat seventh against right-hander Ian Kennedy.

Maxwell is out of the lineup Tuesday against the Padres, Alex Pavlovic of CSN Bay Area reports. Gregor Blanco will man right field Tuesday for the second time in three days. Maxwell was red hot there for a stretch, smacking three home runs in a span of five games, but he's gone 3-for-22 over his last six starts.

Maxwell has assumed the lion's share of the duties in right field for the Giants with Hunter Pence (forearm) unavailable, but he's begun to fizzle out from a promising start. He's recorded one hit over his last 15 at-bats, prompting manager Bruce Bochy to press the reset button. Maxwell will sit out Sunday in favor of Gregor Blanco.

Maxwell will continue to see playing time, even after the return of Hunter Pence (forearm), Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Maxwell hit his third home run in five games Saturday night, collecting 7 total RBI over that span. Although Pence will eventually re-claim that job full time, it wouldn't be surprising to see manager Bruce Bochy easy him into action at first. This will likely come at the expense of Norichika Aoki, rather than Maxwell, according to the report.

Maxwell got another start in right field Friday, going 2-for-3 with a two-run shot in the loss to the Rockies. Maxwell has been red-hot at the plate over his last four games (.429, four runs, two homers, five RBI) and Bruce Bochy said he would start every game this weekend. It appears he has hit his way out of a platoon with Gregor Blanco and is a good short-term pick up until Hunter Pence (forearm) returns sometime in May.

Maxwell will start all three games for the Giants this weekend, the San Jose Mercury News' Andrew Baggarly reports. Manager Bruce Bochy said he has liked Maxwell's at-bats and with two lefties slated to pitch against the Giants Saturday and Sunday the matchups are also in Maxwell's favor. He has always had decent power and speed, but his lack of a strong hit tool has prevented Maxwell for sticking with one organization for very long. However, Maxwell will find playing time difficult to come by once Hunter Pence returns sometime in May.

Maxwell went 2-for-5 and delivered the game-winning RBI in Thursday's win over the Dodgers. Maxwell had been platooning with Gregor Blanco in right field, but the former has been the superior offensive producer early in the year. Manager Bruce Bochy rewarded him with a start against a right-hander Thursday and the move paid off. Maxwell is slashing .300/.400/.500 so far, and he would have short-term fantasy value is Bochy decides to give the interim right field job solely to Maxwell.
