Bour has a minor hamstring problem but expects to return within a few days, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bour should be an everyday player early in the season until Shohei Ohtani returns from Tommy John surgery and forces Albert Pujols to compete for time at first base. Assuming he is indeed able to return in a few days, Bour's status for Opening Day shouldn't be in much doubt.

Bour agreed to a contract with the Angels on Wednesday, Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bour split time with the Marlins and Phillies in 2018, slashing a combined .227/.341/.404 with 20 homers across 141 games. He posted an .819 OPS against right-handed pitching in 2018 -- compared to his .570 mark against southpaws -- so he seems like a strong candidate to settle into the strong side of a platoon at first base with Albert Pujols.

Bour was non-tendered by the Phillies on Friday, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bour was booted off the 40-man roster earlier in the month to make space for a prospect prior to the Rule 5 draft, and he'll search for work elsewhere following the Phillies' latest move. The 30-year-old first baseman slashed .227/.341/.404 with 20 home runs and 59 RBI over 141 games in 2018.

Bour was cast off the 40-man roster and outrighted to the minors Wednesday, Jim Salisbury of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bour is now available to be claimed off waivers after the Phillies elected to free up his 40-man spot for a younger prospect they want to protect ahead of the Rule 5 draft. The first baseman was traded to Philadelphia from Miami in mid-August, and wound up slashing just .224/.296/.347 with one home run and five RBI in his brief time on the diamond (49 plate appearances) with his new team. A disabled list stint due to an oblique injury didn't help matters, but Bour was barely utilized in Philadelphia, only making a handful of starts in his month-and-a-half stay. In 2017, Bour hit .289 with a .902 OPS, 25 home runs and 83 RBI, so he has the potential to to be a strong left-handed bat for a team in need. In the event that Bour clears waivers, expect him to reject an outright assignment to the minors and choose to become a free agent.

The Phillies activated Bour (oblique) from the 10-day disabled list ahead of Sunday's game against the Cubs.
EDGE Analysis
Bour missed the minimum amount of time with the minor left oblique strain and was able to rejoin the Phillies without requiring a rehab assignment beforehand. With Carlos Santana locked in as the Phillies' everyday first baseman and the team recently adding another corner-infield option to the roster in Jose Bautista, Bour will likely struggle to find consistent at-bats now that he's healthy again.

Bour (oblique) took some swings Friday for the first time since injuring his oblique back on Aug. 22, Matt Gelb of The Athletic Philadelphia reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bour is eligible to return on Sunday, though manager Gabe Kapler expects him to be activated "sometime next week", so he'll likely be out for a few days longer than the minimum. He'll return to a part-time role once he's healthy.

Bour was put on the 10-day DL prior to Thursday's game due to a left oblique strain, Jim Salisbury of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bour will be eligible to come off the shelf Sept. 2. According to Todd Zolecki of MLB.com, Bour said he suffered this injury during his final swing of the night Wednesday, during which he went 2-for-5 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored against the Nationals. At this point, the club has yet to offer up a concrete timetable for Bour, but he doesn't expect to miss much more than the minimum. Expect Carlos Santana to see a heavy workload at first base in Bour's absence.

Bour is starting at first base and hitting second Wednesday against the Red Sox.
EDGE Analysis
This will be his first start since the Phillies traded for him on Friday. Bour, a left-handed hitter, is in there against righty Nathan Eovaldi. The team is heavily committed to Carlos Santana at first base, but Bour should see a start or two per week against righties in order to keep him fresh. The big surprise is that Bour is hitting all the way up in the two hole, which makes him an appealing option in daily formats. He has a .272/.357/.504 career slash line against righties.

The Phillies claimed Bour on waivers from the Marlins and agreed on a trade, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Phillies will also receive cash while sending a minor-league pitcher to the Marlins. Carlos Santana is currently the starter at first base for Philadelphia and has a .219/.356/.402 slash line and 17.9 percent walk rate, while Bour has posted a similar .227/.347/.412 slash line with 19 home runs.

Bour went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's loss to the Phillies.
EDGE Analysis
The first baseman enjoyed his trip to Philadelphia even if the Marlins didn't, as he blasted three homers in four games. Bour now has 19 home runs on the year, putting him on pace to top last season's career-high 25, but his .225/.345/.415 slash line dampens his fantasy appeal.
