Bour (ankle) remains out of the lineup Wednesday against the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
There is not an exact timetable for when Bour could be activated from the DL, but there was thought to be a chance he could return for this series against the Giants, and now we know that won't be the case. The Marlins have an off day Thursday, so his next chance to be activated will be prior to Friday's game against the White Sox. Derek Dietrich will start at first base and hit fifth for Wednesday's series finale against righty Jeff Samardzija.

Bour (ankle) will not return to action for Monday's game against the Giants, according to Andre Fernandez of the Miami Herald.
EDGE Analysis
It was announced last week that Bour would be out through the end of the Marlins' road trip, but the Marlins are back at home Monday night, and Bour remains out of the lineup. With Bour still on the disabled list, it's not clear how much longer he will be sidelined.

Bour (ankle) is not expected to rejoin the team until the completion of their road trip, Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
That would make Monday's series opener against the Giants the earliest return date for Bour. In five rehab games with Triple-A New Orleans he has gone just 2-for-18 to go along with one walk.

Bour (ankle) is not expected to return Friday, Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
He's not in the lineup for Friday's matchup against lefty Jorge De La Rosa, and he's not listed on the lineup card as a reserve, so it seems the Marlins will wait at least one more day to activate Bour from the DL. Bour has played in five rehab games with Triple-A New Orleans, going 2-for-18 (both singles) with a walk.

The Marlins are hoping to have Bour (ankle) back for Friday's game against the Rockies, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bour will rehab with Triple-A New Orleans on Tuesday and Wednesday, rest Thursday, then look to gain clearance for Friday's series opener in Colorado. The 28-year-old Bour, who suffered the ankle injury exactly one month ago, will return to the primary role at first base upon activation, starting against righties but sitting in favor of Chris Johnson against left-handed pitching.

Bour (ankle) will start his rehab assignment Friday with Triple-A New Orleans, New Orleans announcer Tim Grubbs reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bour has been out since early July with an ankle injury that he suffered during a game against the Braves on July 2. The first basemen should get a few games under his belt with New Orleans before returning to the big league club, as he says he is still getting comfortable running around the bases and playing the field again. In his place, the Marlins have been shuffling between players at first base, and he should slot right back into the lineup when he returns.

Bour (ankle) has been taking batting practice and running the bases and is expected to begin a rehab assignment Thursday with High-A Jupiter, MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bour hit the disabled list on July 6 with the a sprained right ankle and continues to make progress towards a return, though he admits that he's still getting comfortable running the bases and playing in the field. He posted a solid .268/.347/.526 line with 15 home runs and 46 RBI over 213 at-bats before going down and should return to the Marlins' starting lineup after getting in a handful of rehab games.

The Marlins are leaning toward sending Bour (ankle) out on a rehab assignment, MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
While Bour is eligible to return as soon as Monday, he's still dealing with some soreness in his ankle and thus remains limited in his baseball activity, and he will ultimately need a few games in the minors to knock the rust off. It sounds like July 22 is the earliest possible date for Bour's return.

The MRI on Bour's ankle came back negative, MLB.com reports, but the team decided to place him on the 15-day disabled list rather then allow him to play through the injury.
EDGE Analysis
With the all-star break right around the corner the Marlins are taking an understandably conservative route with their emerging slugger, giving him an extended break to get back to full strength. Bour started the year slowly but is now up to 15 home runs and 46 RBI to go along with a .268/.347/.526 slash line over 213 at-bats. He's eligible to return to the active roster on July 18. Platoon-mate Chris Johnson and recently recalled Don Kelly should get the majority of playing time at first base while Bour is hobbled.

Bour (ankle) was placed on the 15-day DL on Wednesday, Joe Capozzi of the Palm Beach Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bour had missed the Marlins' last three games, and he flew back to Miami on Tuesday to undergo an MRI on the ankle. The team is yet to comment on the results of the scan, but they were apparently discouraging enough to warrant a trip to the DL. The stint is backdated to July 3, so Bour will be eligible to return as early as July 18. In a corresponding move, the Marlins recalled Don Kelly from Triple-A.
