Lagares went 2-for-4 with two home runs and six RBI in an 11-1 victory against the Diamondbacks on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
The 30-year-old has been heating up lately, as he is 6-for-15 (.400) with four extra-base hits, including three homers, in his last seven games. Still, Lagares is only worth adding in very deep leagues. He is batting .215 with five homers, 26 RBI, 35 runs and four steals in 242 at-bats this season.

Lagares is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Nationals, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
He'll cede center-field duties to Brandon Nimmo (neck), who was reinstated from the 60-day injured list Sunday following an extended absence. Manager Mickey Callaway hasn't formally committed to using Nimmo as a regular in the outfield like the 26-year-old had been earlier in the season, but his arrival is a negative development nonetheless for Lagares, who had been filling a near-everyday role for the Mets since the beginning of August.

Lagares went 2-for-3 with a double, walk, RBI and a run Wednesday in the Mets' 4-3 win over the Indians in 10 innings.
EDGE Analysis
Valued mostly for his Gold Glove-caliber defense, Lagares has been surprisingly effective at the dish while starting each of the past eight contests in center field. He's churned out four multi-hit efforts during that stretch but bagged only three extra-base knocks (two doubles, one triple). Lagares' lack of power will continue to put a cap on his overall fantasy upside, limiting his appeal mainly to deeper mixed leagues or NL-only formats while he's seeing regular work.

Lagares went 3-for-5 in Thursday's win over Atlanta.
EDGE Analysis
While the performance didn't produce any runs -- hitting eighth in front of the pitcher can have that effect -- Lagares still has eight hits while starting each of the last three games. With Jeff McNeil (hamstring) out of action, Mets manager Mickey Callaway seems to be going with his best defensive alignment in the outfield, shifting Michael Conforto to right field and putting Lagares' slick glove in center. The 30-year-old doesn't have a tremendous fantasy ceiling -- his career high in homers is six, and he has a career .657 OPS -- but consistent playing time would give Lagares a little value in deep formats.

Lagares went 4-for-4 with a double, a run scored and an RBI in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to Atlanta.
EDGE Analysis
The four hits doubled his season high, and Lagares hadn't put together a multi-hit performance since July 25. The 30-year-old is slashing only .199/.270/.281 on the year, and his role as an occasional option against left-handed pitching doesn't afford him many opportunities for fantasy value.

Lagares could be in line for increased playing time following a potentially season-ending injury to Robinson Cano (hamstring), Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Jeff McNeil will be seeing more action at second base in Cano's absence, opening up more outfield at-bats for Lagares. The veteran center fielder won't play every day, however, and he may not make much of a fantasy impact when he is in the lineup -- he's slashing .186/.263/.267 on the year.

Lagares (illness) started in center field and went hitless across three at-bats Saturday in the Mets' 7-5 win over the Pirates.
EDGE Analysis
Lagares was unavailable off the bench for a couple games earlier in the week while tending to an illness, but his entry into the starting nine confirms the ailment is a thing of the past. He'll continue to work in a reserve role for the Mets moving forward, with most of Lagares' opportunities coming as a late-inning defensive replacement.

Lagares was unavailable for Tuesday's 5-2 win over the White Sox in 11 innings due to an illness, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lagares isn't an everyday player these days, but it became apparent that something was amiss when the Mets opted to go with Aaron Altherr as a late-inning defensive replacement in the outfield rather than turning to the 2014 Gold Glove winner. He'll be out of the lineup again Wednesday, but it's not known whether Lagares will be available off the bench.

Lagares will start in center field and bat eighth Thursday against the Padres, Matt Ehalt of Yahoo Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lagares will check into the lineup for a resting Jeff McNeil after spending the past five games on the bench. It's just the third start of July for Lagares, who is slashing just .177/.247/.259 on the season and is probably only on the Mets' 40-man roster this point thanks to his sterling reputation as a defender.

Lagares will start in center field and bat eighth Thursday against the Phillies, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
He'll enter the lineup for the first time in four games while Jeff McNeil shifts to second base as Robinson Cano gets the day off. The Mets have been rolling with a defensively challenged outfield of McNeil, Dominic Smith and MIchael Conforto against right-handed pitching lately, but any upgrade Lagares might provide with the glove probably isn't enough to justify giving him regular run. Now seven games under .500 entering Thursday, the Mets are probably better off giving everyday at-bats to core pieces like Smith and McNeil in spite of their defensive limitations.
