The Diamondbacks optioned Burgos to Triple-A Reno on Sunday, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Burgos was one of 15 players dismissed from big-league camp in the Diamondbacks' latest round of roster cuts. The 26-year-old righty was unable to secure a spot in Arizona's Opening Day bullpen after yielding four earned runs on six hits and two walks over 2.1 innings in the Cactus League.

Burgos (forearm) is scheduled to make a relief appearance in Monday's Cactus League game against the Guardians, Jack Sommers of SI.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Burgos is healthy again and preparing to compete for a spot in the Diamondbacks' Opening Day bullpen after he closed the past season on the injured list due to a right forearm contusion. The 25-year-old reached the big leagues for the first time in 2025, making 13 appearances between stops with Seattle and Arizona and producing a 6.08 ERA and 1.88 WHIP over 13.1 innings.

The Diamondbacks voided Burgos' Sept. 2 option to Triple-A Reno on Friday and placed him on the 15-day injured list with a right forearm contusion, Jack Sommers of SI.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Burgos suffered the injury during his appearance against the Rangers on Sept. 1. He'll be eligible to return from the injured list whenever he's fully healthy, but there's currently no telling when that may be. Once activated, he may take on a low-leverage role in Arizona's bullpen after posting a 6.08 ERA and 1.88 WHIP in 13.1 innings with the D-backs.

The Diamondbacks recalled Burgos from Triple-A Reno on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Since joining the Diamondbacks organization via the Eugenio Suarez trade, Burgos has given up two earned runs over 3.1 innings at Triple-A Reno. He'll now join Arizona's bullpen for the first time to provide a fresh middle-relief arm, taking the place of Casey Kelly.

The Mariners traded Burgos to the Diamondbacks on Wednesday alongside Tyler Locklear and Hunter Cranton in exchange for Eugenio Suarez, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Burgos has appeared in four games for the Mariners this season while allowing three earned runs over 6.2 frames and striking out eight batters in the process. He was optioned to Triple-A last week but still owns a 40-man roster spot, making him a prime candidate to join the D-backs' injury-depleted bullpen at some point once the big club needs a fresh arm.

The Mariners optioned Burgos to Triple-A Tacoma on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Burgos did a fine job in his first four major-league relief appearances, yielding three runs with an 8:2 K:BB over 6.2 innings. His spot on the 26-man active roster and in the bullpen is being absorbed by lefty Brandyn Garcia, who was called up from Tacoma.
