Phegley is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
Phegley will head to the bench for Wednesday's series finale after starting the previous two games and going 2-for-8 with a pair of doubles and a pair of RBI in those contests. Nick Hundley will start behind the dish and hit ninth in his stead.

Phegley went 1-for-4 with a two-run double in a win over the Rangers on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Phegley came through with yet another timely hit, lacing a double off Lance Lynn to drive in his 10th and 11th runs of the season. The veteran backstop has hit safely in 11 of his last 14 starts, as he continues to significantly outpace platoon mate Nick Hundley (.125 average) at the plate. That's led to Phegley receiving the bulk of playing time behind the dish for the moment, and to significantly up his chances of hanging on to a roster spot once Chris Herrmann (knee) reenters the mix at the position.

Phegley is not in Sunday's lineup against the Blue Jays.
EDGE Analysis
Phegley was on a tear earlier this month, but is in the midst of a 1-for-12 skid with five strikeouts over that stretch. Nick Hundley will start behind the dish, hitting ninth.

Phegley went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in an 8-5 victory against the Orioles on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
The 31-year-old has three home runs this season and all three have come within the last four games. He's off to a very strong start with a .313 batting average, five extra-base hits, seven RBI and eight runs in 11 games. Phegley doesn't walk much, but he still has a .990 OPS because of such a high slugging percentage.

Phegley will start at catcher and bat ninth Sunday against the Orioles, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
He'll be behind the dish for the fourth time in five games and looks to have at least temporarily supplanted Nick Hundley as the Athletics' No. 1 backstop. Phegley is in the midst of one of the best offensive stretches of his career, as he's recorded at least one extra-base hit -- including a pair of home runs -- in each of his last four games. He should be worth rostering in leagues that start two catchers while he's swinging a hot bat.

Phegley went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in a loss to the Orioles on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Phegley now has homers in back-to-back games, and Monday's line pushed his season average to an impressive .304 over his first 24 plate appearances. The veteran backstop has significantly outpaced platoon mate Nick Hundley at the plate thus far, but it remains to be seen if he can keep up his stellar numbers after hitting just .204 and .201 over the last two seasons, respectively.

Phegley went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run and two runs overall in a loss to the Astros on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Phegley's season-opening tear continued in impressive fashion Sunday, with the hot-hitting backstop slugging his first homer of the campaign. Phegley has now hit safely in four of his first five starts of the season and has racked up both of his extra-base hits over his last two games.

Phegley went 2-for-4 with a double and two runs in a win over the Red Sox on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Phegley made noise out of the final spot in the order, and he's now hit safely in each of his last three starts behind the dish. The veteran backstop continues to split playing time with Nick Hundley during Chris Herrmann's recovery from early-March arthroscopic knee surgery, and he's been the more productive of the two thus far with a .308 average through his first 17 plate appearances.

Phegley (forehead) will start at catcher and hit ninth Thursday in the Athletics' home opener against the Angels.
EDGE Analysis
Phegley bruised his forehead during an exhibition game Monday against the Giants, but the injury was never expected to impact his status for Thursday. He'll step in behind the plate for the second time this season after Nick Hundley started one of the Athletics' two games last week against the Mariners in Japan.
