Bell went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run and two runs in a 14-0 victory against the Reds on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Hitting .226 this month, Bell is somewhat limping to the finish line, but he still has 72 extra-base hits and 102 RBI this year. If he can get out of his funk, Bell can still lead the National League in RBI. He is batting .275 with 32 home runs and 86 runs in 465 at-bats this season.

Bell went 1-for-4 against Washington on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
He had been hitless in his last 12 at-bats, going four games without a hit for the first time in 2019. Bell batted .474 with four homers and nine RBI in a five-game stretch last week but has fallen off once again. The first baseman is 1-for-8 in his career against Tuesday's starter Stephen Strasburg. Bell still leads the National League with 36 doubles and is tied for first in RBI (98), along with Eduardo Escobar and Freddie Freeman.

Bell went 2-for-4 with a home run, a walk and three RBI in a win against the Angels on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Playing as the designated hitter in an American League park, Bell plated the first run of the game with a single in the third inning and slugged a two-run shot to center field in the fifth. Bell broke a 26-game home run drought with a pair of long balls Sunday and has now gone deep in both games since, raising his total to 31 on the season. He also leads the majors with 36 doubles and 98 RBI while slashing .288/.370/.601 in 497 plate appearances.

Bell went 2-for-5 with his 30th homer of the season in a 10-2 win over the Angels on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Since returning from a three-day rest period last week, Bell is 7-for-15 with three doubles, three homers (including two opposite-field shots) and six RBI. The first baseman has compiled wild monthly OPS numbers in 2019; March/April (.955), May (1.238), June (.764), July (.769) and August (1.139).

Bell went 3-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI in an 11-9 loss against the Cardinals on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
The 26-year-old hit his first homer since July 5 in the first inning and then added another long ball in the fifth. Bell didn't have a great June either, but he's been really struggling since participating in the Home Run Derby, posting a .188 average with only six extra-base hits in 80 at-bats since the break before Sunday. Bell is batting .284 with 29 home runs, 93 RBI and 80 runs in 422 at-bats this season.

Bell went 2-for-3 with a walk, two doubles and two runs in Friday's 6-2 loss to St. Louis.
EDGE Analysis
He topped an exit velocity of 110 mph with both doubles, an encouraging sign. In fact, Friday marked the first time Bell collected two or more extra-base hits in the same game since July 3 -- he leads the NL with 36 doubles. The first baseman's still looking for his first homer since July 5 but it appears his three-day rest period has paid dividends. Bell is 6-for-16 with a double and homer against Saturday starter Adam Wainwright.

Fri 8/9/19 4:55 PM

Bell will start at first base and bat fourth against the Cardinals on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
The Pirates gave Bell two games off before Thursday's off-day in an effort to snap the 26-year-old out of a protracted slump. Bell is slashing just .209/.318/.429 with nine homers and 37 RBI since the end of May. He has four hits (including two doubles) in six at-bats against Friday starter Dakota Hudson.

Wed 8/7/19 2:35 PM

Bell is not starting Wednesday against the Brewers.
EDGE Analysis
As expected, Bell will stick on the bench for a second straight game as the Pirates look to give him an extended breather amidst his second-half struggles (.176/.299/.230 slash line in 22 games since the All-Star break). Jose Osuna is starting at first base and hitting cleanup in his place.

Bell will head to the bench for the next two games in an effort to get him some rest, Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bell has been slumping at the dish of late, slashing .138/.242/.172 with three RBI over his last eight contests, so the Pirates will give him some time off to regroup. Jose Osuna figures to see time at first base with Bell out of the lineup.

Mon 7/29/19 4:08 PM

Bell (hand) is starting at first base and hitting cleanup Monday against the Reds.
EDGE Analysis
Bell's absence Sunday against the Mets was apparently planned -- and not due to the apparent hand injury he suffered Saturday -- a notion supported by his inclusion in the starting nine for Monday's series opener. The switch hitter is slashing just .184/.310/.245 in 15 games since the All-Star break and will look to get back on track against right-hander Sonny Gray on Monday.
