Jose Lobaton went 3-for-3 with a three-run homer and four RBI in Wednesday's rout of the Orioles. Lobaton "plated" a run with a first-inning HBP before taking Matt Lindstrom deep for a three-run bomb in the fifth. The blast was his first of the season, and first in 59 career major-league games. Needless to say, he's about as far off the fantasy radar as one can get.

Rays activated C Jose Lobaton from the 15-day disabled list. Lobaton missed over a month with soreness in his right (throwing) shoulder. The 27-year-old catcher was batting .200/.333/.300 through his first 12 plate appearances this season. He carries no fantasy value.

Jose Lobaton (shoulder) expects to avoid a trip to the disabled list. However, Lobaton concedes he may be forced to miss "a few" games. Jose Molina's backup, Lobaton's next scheduled start is not until Sunday. Lobaton is off-the-radar in AL-only leagues.

Jose Lobaton left Thursday's game against the Tigers with a sore shoulder. He went 1-for-3 with a single before exiting in the sixth. The severity of the injury isn't yet known, but it's worth noting that he was bothered by shoulder weakness during winter ball. Stay tuned for an update.

Jose Lobaton went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI as the Rays and Red Sox played to a 7-7 tie on Saturday. With Robinson Chirinos missing most of the spring due to a concussion, Lobaton appears set to win a bench job by default. He could get more playing time than most backup catchers, but he probably won't hit enough to be of much use in AL-only leagues.

Jose Lobaton (shoulder) has been throwing at 120 feet and doesn't expect to be held back at all at the start of spring training. Lobaton was removed from his Venezuelan Winter League club due to weakness in his right shoulder, but it was just a precautionary move and it appears that he'll be fine. The 27-year-old hit just .118/.231/.147 in his brief time with the Rays this past season but boasted an impressive .307/.417/.505 line at Triple-A. He's expected to share the catching job with Jose Molina this season.
