Rays recalled C Jose Lobaton from Triple-A Durham. The 26-year-old was batting .293/.410/.489 with eight home runs in 224 plate appearances for Durham. With John Jaso (oblique) hitting the disabled list, Lobaton could see semi-regular starts behind the plate.

The Rays won't have to make a corresponding roster move, since Brandon Guyer was sent to the minors following Sunday's game. Lobaton, 26, is batting .293/.410/.489 with eight homers and 31 RBI over 224 plate appearances at the Triple-A level this season.
