Suarez did not factor into the decision Monday, allowing four runs on 10 hits and one walk over four innings during a 6-4 loss to the Nationals. He struck out two.

Suarez was given early run support, but he wasn't able to hold onto the lead and was tagged for three runs in the fourth, which tied the game at 4-4. The left-hander is coming off back-to-back sub-4.00 ERA seasons, but he's struggled to start the 2023 campaign, allowing 11 runs on 18 hits over his two starts (8.1 innings).

Suarez (0-1) was handed the loss after giving up seven runs (six earned) on eight hits and two walks as the Angels fell to the Mariners, 11-2, on Tuesday. He struck out four over the 77-pitch outing.

Suarez appeared to right the ship with a pair of 1-2-3 innings, but he unraveled in the fourth, surrendering three straight hits, including a Teoscar Hernandez home run. He served up another home run to Hernandez the following inning before being pulled from the contest a batter later.

Suarez is lined up to start the Angels' fifth game of the season, which will take place April 4 in Seattle, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Suarez was essentially a lock for a starting role coming into spring training after posting a 3.96 ERA and 1.25 WHIP over 22 games (20 starts last season). He has been fine in three Cactus League starts, allowing five runs (four earned) and posting a 6:3 K:BB over 8.2 innings. Suarez doesn't have the strikeout numbers or history of consistency to be an exciting option in fantasy, but he can give managers in deeper leagues decent ratios at a reasonable cost.

Suarez (8-8) earned the win Saturday over the Rangers, allowing two runs on two hits and striking out six over seven innings.

Suarez flirted with perfection in this one, throwing six clean innings before he was tagged for a two-run home run by Nathaniel Lowe in the seventh. That blast briefly put the Rangers ahead, but the Angels regained the lead to allow Suarez to be rewarded with the win, leveling his record in his last start of the year. The southpaw has had some solid moments over the second half of the campaign, giving up more than three runs just once in his last 11 outings. He'll finish the season with a 3.96 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 103:33 K:BB across 109 innings over 22 appearances (20 starts). The strong second-half performance should give Suarez an inside track to a rotation spot to begin 2023.

Although Suarez fell one out shy of picking up a quality start Sunday, he was rewarded with his seventh win of the year after settling for losses in his last two outings. The southpaw has lasted at least five innings in all 10 of his starts following the All-Star break, and he's posted a 2.84 ERA and 1.11 WHIP in 57 innings during that time. He tentatively lines up to make his next start at home against the Rangers on Sunday.

Tuesday's outing was fairly representative of the 24-year-old's season as he's compiled a 3.20 ERA in the first four innings of outings and a 6.00 ERA in the fifth inning or later. His next start will likely be early next week in Texas.
