The Angels placed Soriano on the 15-day injured list Thursday with a right forearm contusion.
EDGE Analysis
Soriano was taken out of his most recent start Wednesday after getting hit on the forearm by a comebacker. X-rays on his forearm came back negative, but the Angels will place him on the injured list anyway, putting an early end to his season. The 26-year-old will finish 2025 with a 4.26 ERA and 1.40 WHIP alongside a 152:78 K:BB through 169 innings. Sam Aldegheri was recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake in a corresponding move.

Soriano was removed from his start Wednesday against the Brewers with a right forearm contusion.
EDGE Analysis
Soriano took a line drive off his forearm in the second inning of Wednesday's game, forcing him to be pulled after giving up three earned runs over just 1.1 frames. X-rays on his forearm came back negative shortly after the incident, leaving the door open for him to make his next start.

Soriano allowed four runs (three earned) on five hits and three walks while striking out four over four innings in a no-decision Thursday versus the Mariners.
EDGE Analysis
Soriano gave up all four runs in the second inning, with an error allowing Seattle to extend its early rally. This was a better performance than his last start, but Soriano has allowed 12 runs (11 earned) over 6.1 innings in September and has given up four or more runs in four of his last seven starts. He's at a 4.13 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 152:76 K:BB through 167.2 innings over 30 starts this season. The 26-year-old's next start is projected to be at Milwaukee, but it's worth noting he was pushed back a day for this turn through the rotation. With a number of the Angels' starters laboring, the team may consider going to a six-man rotation to ease everyone's burden, though the pitching plans for the remainder of the season are not yet known.

Soriano will make his next start Thursday in Seattle, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.
EDGE Analysis
Soriano had been lined up to start Wednesday's series finale versus the Twins, but he will receive an extra day of rest after he had his worst start of the season his last time out, allowing eight runs over 2.1 innings in a loss to the Athletics this past Friday. Jose Urena worked five shutout innings of long relief behind Soriano on Friday and will now be called upon to make a spot start Wednesday.

Soriano (10-10) allowed eight runs on six hits and five walks while striking out four over 2.1 innings to take the loss Friday versus the Athletics.
EDGE Analysis
Soriano had won three of his last four starts, posting scoreless lines in each victory, but it was again the Athletics that got to him. He posted quality starts in his first two matchups against the A's this year, but they've responded by tagging him for 13 runs across eight innings in his last two starts against them. Soriano has been prone to blowups this year -- this is the eighth time he's given up five or more earned runs and the ninth time he's been charged with at least five runs. Over 29 starts, he has a 4.07 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 148:73 K:BB through 163.2 innings. He's tentatively projected to make his next start at home versus the Twins.

Soriano (10-9) picked up the win Sunday against Houston, allowing one hit and three walks across seven scoreless innings. He struck out eight.
EDGE Analysis
Soriano delivered his third scoreless start of his last four outings, shutting down the Astros and notching his most strikeouts in his last 12 appearances. A five-run start against the Athletics on Aug. 17 spoiled Soriano's stats over that four-start stretch. Soriano had five scoreless outings in 24 starts before his recent streak. Through 161.1 innings, Soriano has a 3.68 ERA and a 144:68 K:BB. He's tentatively scheduled to make his next start at home against the A's.

Soriano (9-9) threw 5.2 scoreless innings, allowing four hits and issuing one walk while striking out six batters, to earn the win over Texas on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Soriano's previous start had come eight days ago because he missed some time while on the paternity list. The extra days off appeared to serve the right-hander well, as he kept Texas from producing any extra-base hits over 5.2 scoreless frames. Soriano couldn't quite record a quality start -- he was pulled with two outs in the bottom of the sixth after allowing the final two batters he faced to reach base -- but this was nonetheless a strong bounce-back after he gave up five runs over 5.2 innings in his previous start. Soriano will try to build on Monday's excellent outing the next time he takes the mound, which lines up to be against Houston this weekend.

The Angels reinstated Soriano (personal) from the restricted list Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Soriano wasn't ready to rejoin the Angels after the maximum three days on the paternity list, so the club shifted him to the restricted list Saturday in a procedural move. He's slated to make his next start Monday versus the Rangers.

Soriano (personal) was moved from the paternity list to the restricted list Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Per Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register, Soriano traveled back to the Dominican Republic for the birth of his child and required four days off -- one more than the maximum allowed on the paternity list. The expectation is that Soriano will join the team Sunday and make his scheduled start Monday.

The Angels placed Soriano on the paternity list Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Soriano is tentatively lined up to start against the Cubs this weekend, and he should still be available to pitch since players can spend only 1-to-3 days on the paternity list. The Angels recalled Chase Silseth from Triple-A Salt Lake, who could make a spot start if Soriano is away from the team for longer than expected. Soriano has gone 2-2 in six starts since the All-Star break with a 4.29 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 32:9 K:BB across 35.2 innings.
