Soler (back) has continued to ramp up his activity at the Angels' complex in Arizona, but he appears unlikely to be activated from the 60-day injured list before the season ends Sunday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports. "Whether he's activated or not, we'll see," interim manager Ray Montgomery said of Soler. "But in terms of the mentality, he knows his body is in a good spot. Going into the offseason, that would be huge."
EDGE Analysis
Soler has been on the shelf since July 26 due to low back inflammation, and though he's seemingly steered clear of setbacks since reporting to Arizona on Sept. 11 to continue his workouts, the Angels are eliminated from playoff contention and don't have much incentive to rush the 33-year-old back for the final week of the season. Before landing on the IL, Soler slashed .215/.293/.387 with 12 home runs, 34 RBI and 31 runs in 82 games. Soler should be in line for a normal offseason and will be entering the final season of a three-year, $42 million contract in 2026.

Soler (back) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Soler has been on the 10-day injured list since late July while nursing low back inflammation, but he will now be likely forced to be sidelined until the end of the 2025 season. The 33-year-old compiled a .215 average with 12 home runs, 34 RBI and 31 runs scored over 279 at-bats in 82 contests with the Angels this year.

Soler (back) has increased his work on the field as of Friday, as he's been shagging flyballs in addition to hitting against high-velocity pitching, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 64-72 Angels are well removed from wild-card contention, but Soler still appears to be gearing up for a return before the end of the season after he was placed on the injured list July 26 due to low back inflammation. He's continuing to steadily incorporate more activity into his workouts, but the Angels haven't yet revealed when he'll be ready for a rehab assignment. Once he's activated from the IL, Soler should settle back in as the Angels' primary option in right field, which will result in Jo Adell shifting back to center field on a more regular basis.

Soler (back) has been cleared to start swinging a bat and begin running and throwing progressions, Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
Soler was placed on the 10-day injured list July 26 due to lower-back inflammation, and after a shutdown period, he's back to baseball activities. The team has yet to disclose a timetable for his return, but the fact that he's taking cuts in addition to running and throwing is a sign that he could return before the end of the 2025 campaign.

Soler (back) will continue to undergo testing on his back and does not have a timetable for a return, Thomas Murray of The Sporting Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Soler hasn't played since July 23 as he deals with lower back inflammation. Angels interim manager Ray Montgomery noted the complex nature of the issue, saying, "Those things can be tricky, especially when you're dealing with that part of your body." Though there's currently no timeline for Soler's return, Montgomery did say that he's still optimistic the slugger will be able to play again this season.

Soler (back) has yet to resume baseball activities, per MLB.com.
EDGE Analysis
Soler has now been out of action for over three weeks, as he last played July 23 against the Mets. The veteran outfielder has had an issue with his back on multiple occasions this year, so the Angels may be opting to give him all the time he needs to recover given their current place in the standings (they sit five games out of a wild-card spot with three teams ahead of them in the race for the final bid). Since Soler has been out of action, Jo Adell has been getting most of the starts in right field while Bryce Teodosio has become a near-everyday presence in the lineup in center.

Soler (back) hasn't resumed taking part in baseball activities since landing on the 10-day injured list July 26, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
Soler is eligible to come off the IL on Monday, though it's clear that he'll need more than the minimum 10 days to recover from his bout with low back inflammation. The 33-year-old was previously shelved from June 20 through June 30 with a back issue, so the Angels could be motivated to take a more cautious approach with his recovery from his latest back problem. Gustavo Campero, Jo Adell and Luis Rengifo are likely to see most of the starts in right field while Adell is sidelined.

The Angels placed Soler on the 10-day injured list Saturday with lower-back inflammation, retroactive to Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Soler's back forced him out of Wednesday's game early, and he'll now have to remain out until at least early August upon moving to the IL. Gustavo Campero was recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake to replenish the Halos' outfield depth, though LaMonte Wade will likely receive the bulk of reps in right field until Soler is healthy.

Soler (back) is not in the Angels' starting lineup against the Mariners on Friday, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.
EDGE Analysis
Soler will sit for a second consecutive game due to back soreness that flared up during Wednesday's game against the Mets. Chris Taylor will start in right field and bat eighth in Soler's absence, though the latter could be available off the bench to pinch hit.

Soler (back) isn't in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Mariners, Jack Janes of TheSportingTribune.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
A back injury forced Soler out of Wednesday's game in the third inning. The 33-year-old has already spent time on the IL this year due to back problems, so the Angels will err on the side of caution and hold him out of Thursday's contest while LaMonte Wade starts in right field.
