India went 3-for-5 with two RBI in Monday's 11-1 win over the Brewers.
EDGE Analysis
India was given the green light to play Monday after being removed from Sunday's 6-2 loss to the Guardians after being struck on the helmet by a pitch in the ninth inning. It didn't appear to affect him Monday, as he led the team with three hits including a two-run single in the seventh to expand the Royals' lead to eight runs. Following his 0-for-5 effort on Opening Day, India has gone 6-for-11 with two walks and two RBI across his last three outings.

India (head) will start at third base and bat leadoff in Monday's game against the Brewers.
EDGE Analysis
India's availability for the series opener in Milwaukee was in some question after he was removed from Sunday's 6-2 loss to the Guardians after being struck on the helmet by a pitch in the ninth inning, but his early exit looks to have been precautionary. He apparently passed all follow-up testing and should be ready to handle an everyday role during the Royals' upcoming six-game week.

EDGE Analysis
India was struck by a 98.9 mph cutter from Cleveland's closer Emmanuel Clase, which collided with his helmet and face. The infielder was replaced at first base by MJ Melendez, bringing India's day to an end after he went 1-for-3 with a walk, the hit-by-pitch and a run scored in the contest. More information on India's status will likely be provided in the near future.

India went 2-for-3 with a run and walk in a 4-3 win over Cleveland on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
India was brought aboard over the winter to provide some strong on-base skills for the Kansas City lineup and holds a career on-base percentage of .352. He scored his team's first run of the game in the bottom of the fourth when he came across home after a Salvador Perez single. India figures to be the everyday leadoff hitter for Kansas City and has played both third base and left field in the early going. By trade, he is a second baseman as well. His positional versatility should come in handy as the season progresses.

India started at third base and hit leadoff while going 0-for-5 in Thursday's 7-4 loss to Cleveland. He later moved to left field.
EDGE Analysis
India will serve as Kansas City's leadoff hitter this season. He'll split playing time between third base and left field and could also be used at second base. India had never fielded a position other than second base at the major-league level, though he served primarily as a third baseman in the minors back in 2019.

India is starting in left field and batting leadoff Friday versus the Rangers in the Royals' Cactus League opener.
EDGE Analysis
It was known that India would be getting reps in the outfield during camp, but it's interesting that his first start this spring is in left field. India has never played anywhere other than second base at the major-league level, and the keystone could still be his primary position this season. However, India getting starts in left field opens up second base for Michael Massey, who will start at that position Friday.

India (ankle) said Saturday that he has talked with the Royals about playing third base and left field in addition to second base, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
India has never fielded a position other than second base at the major-league level, though he served primarily as a third baseman in the minors back in 2019. Left field, on the other hand, will be a completely new experience for the 28-year-old, but he cited his athleticism as a reason to believe he'll succeed in the new role. The Royals will likely start India in left field several times during spring training, though it's unclear how often he will venture away from the keystone once the regular season begins.

The Royals acquired India (ankle) and Joey Wiemer in exchange for Brady Singer on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
India enjoyed a strong 2024 season with the Reds while serving as their primary second baseman. However, with Matt McLain and Christian Encarnacion-Strand back from injury, there was a projected playing time squeeze along Cincinnati's infield. India should immediately slot into the starting second base job with the Royals and should have the chance to hit in a prominent spot in the lineup.

India had surgery to "clean up" his ankle as soon as the season ended, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports. It's considered to be a minor procedure that will allow India to have a normal offseason.
EDGE Analysis
We've occasionally seen the rehab on these seemingly innocuous procedures last longer than expected, but India is expected to be ready for spring training nonetheless. The Reds have a number of underlying issues in the infield this offseason, including where to deploy India upon the return of Matt McLain.
