The Blue Jays optioned Clase to Triple-A Buffalo on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Clase had been seeing fairly steady playing time in the Toronto outfield since being promoted from Triple-A on May 7, but he slashed a dismal .219/.299/.313 with two home runs and three stolen bases in 34 games. In a corresponding move, Toronto recalled Leo Jimenez to provide depth in the middle infield while shortstop Bo Bichette is day-to-day with a knee injury, but Myles Straw, Davis Schneider and Will Wagner may be more likely candidates to benefit from added opportunities in the outfield or at designated hitter now that Clase is out of the mix.

Clase will start in left field and bat eighth in Monday's game against the Yankees.
EDGE Analysis
Clase had been on track to open Monday's contest in a reserve role, but he'll end up starting as a result of the lineup reshuffling that was created by Bo Bichette (knee) being scratched. The 23-year-old will pick up his fourth start in five games, but he'll likely see his opportunities dwindle once one or both of Daulton Varsho (hamstring) or Anthony Santander (shoulder) return from the injured list.

Clase is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Yankees.
EDGE Analysis
The switch-hitting Clase had started in three of the past four games, but he'll hit the bench Monday while Davis Schneider replaces him in left field as the Yankees send southpaw Carlos Rodon to the bump. Though injuries to Daulton Varsho (hamstring) and Anthony Santander (shoulder) have cleared the way for Clase to earn more playing time in the outfield, the 23-year-old hasn't been able to capitalize on the opportunities. He's hitting just .155/.234/.259 over 21 games in June.

Clase is not in the Blue Jays' starting lineup against the Red Sox on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Clase will begin the game on the bench after going 0-for-5 with a strikeout in Friday's 9-0 win. George Springer, Myles Straw and Nathan Lukes will start for in the outfield Toronto from left to right.

Clase is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Clase had mostly been occupying the strong side of a platoon in center field since Daulton Varsho (hamstring) landed on the injured list June 1, but Myles Straw will stick in the lineup for a second straight matchup versus a right-handed pitcher (Adrian Houser). Clase has produced a .464 OPS in June, and though Straw hasn't been any better at the plate over that stretch (.433 OPS), his superior defense may be tipping the scales in his favor.

Clase went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Thursday's loss to Arizona.
EDGE Analysis
The 23-year-old took Anthony DeSclafani deep in the eighth inning as the Blue Jays tried to mount a late comeback from a 9-1 deficit. Clase has seen regular action in June due to all the injuries in the Toronto outfield, but he largely hasn't been able to take advantage, slashing .146/.205/.293 over 44 plate appearances on the month with two solo homers, two additional runs scored and a 31.8 percent strikeout rate.

Clase (knee) will start in center field and bat ninth in Thursday's game versus the Diamondbacks.
EDGE Analysis
Clase didn't play Wednesday after departing Tuesday's contest when he was hit by a pitch on the right knee. After the day off, Clase has apparently made enough progress in his recovery from the bruised knee to give it a go Thursday. Clase will likely serve as the Blue Jays' primary option in center field until Daulton Varsho (hamstring) is ready to come off the injured list.

Clase (knee) is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks.
EDGE Analysis
Clase was one of two Blue Jays center fielders who exited in the fifth inning of Tuesday's 5-4 win, with Myles Straw also checking out of the game due to an ankle sprain. Neither Clase nor Straw is ready to start Wednesday, but manager John Schneider said that Clase has already shown some improvement in his recovery from the right knee contusion and might be available off the bench, per Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca. The Blue Jays will turn to George Springer in center field in the penultimate game of the series.

Clase was removed from Tuesday's game against the Diamondbacks due to a right knee contusion.
EDGE Analysis
Clase took a 93-mph sinker off his knee in the fourth inning of Tuesday's contest and was replaced on defense for the start of the fifth. The fact that he was able to run for himself is a positive sign that he avoided a serious injury, though he may still need a day or two off to recover.

Clase is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Phillies.
EDGE Analysis
Clase is absent from the starting nine Friday after making three consecutive starts -- two in left field and one in center field. In the wake of his absence, Davis Schneider, Myles Straw and Addison Barger will fill the outfield from left to right.
