Cueto turned in one of his best starts of the year against a volatile Dodgers lineup. After coughing up 11 home runs in his last eight starts, the right-hander turned things around by blanking his opponent for just the third time this year while running his fastball up to 95 mph. With the successful outing, Cueto improves to a 3.84 ERA and 1.25 WHIP on the season. He's tentatively slated to take the mound again in a favorable matchup on the road at Arizona on Tuesday.

Cueto yielded three runs on three hits and a walk over five innings in Friday's loss to Pittsburgh. He struck out seven and did not factor in the decision.

Cueto allowed an RBI triple to Gregory Polanco in the second inning but most of the damage against him came via Bryan Reynolds' two-run homer in the third. He's given up 11 long balls in his last eight starts. The veteran righty saw his ERA climb to 4.09 with a 77:17 K:BB through 16 starts. Cueto is lined up for a tough home matchup against the Dodgers next week.

The right-hander was jolted for a two-run, first-inning homer by Nolan Arenado. He gave up another pair of runs in the fourth inning and departed in the sixth trailing 4-3. The Giants were unable to catch up, sticking Cueto with his second straight loss. The veteran has produced unexciting numbers this season, including a 4.15 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 8.2 K/9. His next start will possibly come in a rematch versus the Cardinals immediately following the All-Star break.

Cueto (6-4) took the loss in Thursday's 5-3 defeat at the hands of the Diamondbacks, allowing five runs on six hits and two walks with five strikeouts in five innings.

Cueto had 1-2-3 innings in the first and third but ran into trouble in his other three innings, permitting two runs in the second and fourth and one in the fifth. He was bit especially by the extra-base hit as five of the six hits he allowed went for multiple bases. Cueto's now been handed a decision in six straight starts, going 3-3 in the stretch with a 4.15 ERA and a 22/8 strikeout to walk ratio.

Cueto is feeling under the weather prior to his start Thursday against the Diamondbacks, but he is still expected to take the mound, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Cueto has allowed two homers in three straight outings and while that is slowly becoming an issue for the veteran hurler, he still got the job done in this one by posting his third quality start of the campaign. Cueto owns a 5.74 ERA in three starts this month, though, and he has given up at least three earned runs in four of his last five appearances. His next turn on the rotation should come next week at home against the Athletics.
