The Brewers will promote Weimer to the major-league roster before Saturday's game against the Cubs, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wiemer came up short of making the Opening Day roster, but he'll receive a promotion to Milwaukee after missing just the first game of the year. The 23-year-old outfielder showed well in spring training, and he hit 21 homers with an .801 OPS for Double-A Biloxi and Triple-A Nashville while stealing 31 bases. Because of his power/speed potential, Wiemer is definitely a prospect that is worth a look in fantasy leagues.

Wiemer was reassigned to minor-league camp by the Brewers on Monday, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wiemer seemed to have some recent momentum in regards to his chances of making the Opening Day roster, but ultimately he came up short with Owen Miller getting the final position player spot. While he will go down to Triple-A Nashville for now, Wiemer has set himself up along with Sal Frelick to be considered for a promotion if an outfielder is needed.

Wiemer's chances of making the Brewers' Opening Day roster have increased following the news that Keston Hiura and Tyler Naquin won't make the team, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
He could even get a good number of starts in right field if the Brewers wind up using Brian Anderson more at third base. Wiemer looked like a long shot to make the team when camp opened, but Tyrone Taylor (elbow) got hurt and others have disappointed. The 24-year-old would need to be added to the 40-man roster if he makes the club.

Wiemer has a chance to make Milwaukee's Opening Day roster, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. "We have uncertainty in the outfield right now and that's created some opportunities for guys," manager Craig Counsell said Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
With Garrett Mitchell (hamstring) questionable for the start of the season and Tyrone Taylor (elbow) expected to miss the first month of the season, the Brewers don't have any healthy outfielders who bring both defense and offensive upside to the table. Enter Wiemer, whose only non-plus tool is his hit tool, as he has the arm for right field and the speed and glove for center field. He has hit .231 with two home runs, two steals, six strikeouts and three walks in 26 at-bats this spring. The Brewers also have Luke Voit hanging around in hopes of being added to the 40-man roster, so there will have to be quite a bit of roster juggling to squeeze Wiemer onto the 40-man and Opening Day rosters. However, his defensive chops and the mounting injuries in Milwaukee give him a chance.

Wiemer was promoted to Triple-A Nashville on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Wiemer has posted a meager .450 OPS over 19 games with Double-A Biloxi since the start of July, but that did not prevent the Brewers from moving him up to the top level of the minor leagues. Wiemer played in this year's Futures Game and posted a .984 OPS over his first 38 games of the year, so there are reasons to be excited about his future. However, he will need to get back on track at the plate to maintain his prospect status.

Wiemer hasn't homered since June 22 for Double-A Biloxi, and he's hit just .131/.221/.164 with 25 strikeouts in his last 16 games.
EDGE Analysis
He's gone down on strikes at a startling 36.8 percent clip in that span, pushing his season-long strikeout rate to 30.9 percent. While Wiemer has displayed power (15 homers) and speed (24 steals in 25 tries) alike in Double-A, he's been unable to replicate the far sharper plate discipline he showed in the lower levels of the minors last season.

Wiemer went 10-for-24 (.417) with five home runs, eight RBI and two stolen bases over his last six games with Double-A Biloxi.
EDGE Analysis
Double-A pitchers have had few answers for Wiemer, who is hitting .302/.375/.605 with nine home runs, 12 doubles and 26 RBI -- to go along with six stolen bases -- through 144 plate appearances at the level. They have been able to strike out him 45 times, though, and his 31.2 percent strikeout rate is the highest of his career. Wiemer's prospect star is on the rise, but he's going to have to make more contact to assert his standing.

Wiemer went 1-for-3 with a home run, a walk and two RBI in Thursday's game with Double-A Biloxi.
EDGE Analysis
After posting a 1.147 OPS over 34 games with High-A Wisconsin last season, Wiemer kicked off the 2022 campaign at the Double-A level. He has been unfazed by the tougher competition thus far, posting a .385 batting average and 1.064 OPS over his first 29 PA with Biloxi. Wiemer turned 23 in February, so if he keeps things up he could earn himself at least one more promotion before the year comes to a close.

Wiemer has gone 12-for-28 (.429) with five home runs and six RBI over eight games since being promoted to High-A Wisconsin.
EDGE Analysis
Wiemer earned the first promotion of his career by tallying four homers, three doubles and 12 RBI over his last five games with Low-A Carolina, and he has shown no signs of slowing down despite moving up a level. Wiemer has also stolen 23 bases across both levels this season and is younger than the average player in the High-A Central league, so there is ample reason to start buying into him from a prospect perspective.
