Votto (lower leg) is still not back in the lineup Tuesday against the Brewers.
EDGE Analysis
Votto was initially reported to be eyeing a return after the minimum 10 days on Sunday. When that fell through, it sounded as though he'd likely be back Tuesday, but he apparently remains unready. It's unclear how many more days the Reds expect him to miss.

Votto (lower leg) took batting practice, fielded groundballs and ran Sunday with the hope of being activated ahead of Tuesday's game against the Brewers, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
EDGE Analysis
Some thought that Votto could return Sunday already, but with the team's day off Monday, the Reds will instead keep him on the disabled list a bit longer. Tuesday's activation is by no means a sure thing, as the Reds would likely rather have Votto be 100 percent before returning given the team's lowly standing in the NL Central division. However, seeing how much the star first baseman increased his activity Sunday, a Tuesday activation seems well within the realm of possibility.

Votto (lower leg) is not in the lineup for Sunday's series finale against the Cubs.
EDGE Analysis
Votto could still technically be activated prior to first pitch, but that seems unlikely after the Reds discussed Friday the uncertainty of his immediate availability. The team's scheduled off day Monday also provides an additional incentive to delay a return. The Reds have no reason to risk rushing back their star first baseman entering the final stages of a lost season.

Votto (lower leg) hopes to return from the disabled list Sunday, the earliest date he's eligible, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
EDGE Analysis
Votto kept playing sporadically after getting hit in the leg by a pitch back on Aug. 4 but was eventually placed on the disabled list. Brandon Dixon has been playing first base in his absence.

Votto was put on the 10-day disabled list retroactive to Thursday due to a right lower-leg contusion.
EDGE Analysis
Votto has been dealing with this injury since he was hit by a pitch against the Nationals on Aug. 4. He was held out of a few games since that date, and it became evident in recent days that lingering discomfort would force Votto to take some time off. He will be eligible to return against the Cubs on Aug. 26. Look for Brandon Dixon to receive an uptick in playing time at first base in his absence. Aristides Aquino was recalled from Double-A Pensacola in a corresponding move.

Votto (undisclosed) is starting at first base and hitting second Tuesday against the Indians.
EDGE Analysis
Votto, who has been nursing a sore knee lately, won't be forced to miss any additional action after exiting Monday's series-opening loss in the seventh inning. The 34-year-old is hitting .290/.428/.428 with nine home runs through 116 games this season.

Votto was removed in the sixth inning of Monday's game against Cleveland due to an apparent injury, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
EDGE Analysis
Votto was seen limping to second base on a double earlier in the ballgame, but he managed to remain in contest for the next few innings. He was replaced by Curt Casali at first base in the top of the seventh frame. Votto has been battling a sore right knee over the past few days, so it's unclear if the same issue is causing him problems.

Votto (knee) is batting second and starting at first base for the series finale against the Diamondbacks, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic Cincinnati reports.
EDGE Analysis
Votto sat out a pair of games earlier in the week and was held out of Saturday's lineup with a sore right knee, although he did appear as a pinch hitter Saturday. The 34-year-old has a solid .291/.429/.428 slash line, but hasn't hit a home run since July 9, a span of 96 plate appearances.

Votto (knee) is not in the lineup Saturday against Arizona.
EDGE Analysis
Votto missed a pair of games earlier in the week with a sore right knee. He was able to play Friday but appears to have been given another day to rest. He'll likely be managed on a day-to-day basis until the Reds are confident that the knee is no longer an issue. Brandon Dixon will get the start at first base.

Votto (knee) will man first base and bat second against the Diamondbacks on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
As expected, Votto will be back in action after missing the past two games following a knee injury he sustained during Monday's game. He benefitted from the Reds having a scheduled off day Thursday, and should be ready to go for this weekend's three-game set.
