Reyes was designated for assignment Friday, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Marlins needed to clear a spot on the roster for Friday's starter, Justin Nicolino, so designating Reyes does not come as a complete surprise given that he allowed two earned runs over 2.0 innings in his lone appearance with the big league club. He'll now be subject to waivers, but if he goes unclaimed, he could remain in the Marlins' organization without a 40-man roster spot.

Reyes allowed two runs on three hits and one walk during Wednesday's loss to the Tigers.
EDGE Analysis
Called up prior to Tuesday's game, Reyes was making his Marlins' debut and got touched up for a couple of during the mop-up appearance. The 31-year-old journeyman threw just one pitch at the major league level in 2015 and holds a 4.17 ERA and 1.41 WHIP in 36.2 innings for Triple-A New Orleans this season, so he'll need to show more to stick with the big club.

Reyes' contract was selected from Triple-A New Orleans on Tuesday, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Paul Clemens being claimed by the Padres off waivers, Miami had an open roster spot and selected Jo-Jo Reyes for a call up. Reyes, who's posted a 4.17 ERA and 1.39 WHIP over 36.2 innings for the Triple-A affiliate this season, will likely provide bullpen relief for the Marlins going forward.

Reyes will sign a minor-league contract with the Angels, MLB Trade Rumors reports. He'll report to Triple-A Salt Lake. The 30-year-old, who last appeared in the majors in 2011, had been spending this season in the Mexican League. Even in his younger years, Reyes was never much of an asset at the big-league level, accruing a 12-26 record, 6.04 ERA, and 1.64 WHIP over 335 innings. He'd simply serve as organizational pitching depth for the Angels.
