Adell isn't going to be hurried into a big-league role despite impressing at summer camp, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Adell has impressed with the bat in intrasquad action, but manager Joe Maddon insisted that the team will be cautious about rushing the organization's top prospect. "He has things to work on, quite frankly," Maddon stated. "Don't be deceived by a couple well-struck balls in a spring training game, whether it's here now or in an actual spring that we just went through. He's making progress. He is a major-league player in the making. But don't try to rush a young man like this. You want to make sure that when you do pull the switch and put him out there that he's absolutely ready for it, that he stays here and he continues to progress." Maddon didn't give a clear answer when asked if Adell would be included on the team's initial 30-man roster, but given the manager's comments, it appears likely Adell will begin the season as part of the satellite squad.

Adell smashed a two-run home run off teammate Jose Rodriguez in an intrasquad game Thursday, Trent Rush of Angels Radio Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
The longball was Adell's first of what the organization hopes will be many at Angel Stadium. Adell could make a push for the team's initial 30-man roster with a strong performance in summer camp, though he'd likely be relegated to a reserve role if he does break camp with the club.

Adell will be part of the Angels' 60-man roster.
EDGE Analysis
Adell isn't currently on the 40-man roster but was a lock to make the 60-man roster, given that there won't be a minor-league season. There were a few plate discipline issues in spring that led to manager Joe Maddon suggesting he might need more time in the minors, but it's tough to ignore the 21-year-old's swift advancement from High-A to Triple-A in 2019. Adell still possesses tools that could lead to the coveted speed/power combination. With a strong performance in summer camp, Adell could make the initial 30-man cut since the Angels are in win-now mode. Even if that happens, he will need to produce in order to play regularly over Brian Goodwin.

Adell is unlikely to begin a potential 2020 season on the big-league roster, but his landing spot may be determined by the status of minor-league plans, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
Though Adell showed some positive signs before the suspension of Cactus League play, his impatience at the plate -- he racked up 13 strikeouts without drawing a walk -- led manager Joe Maddon to indicate that the promising youngster is in need of additional seasoning. Per Fletcher, that seasoning could best be accomplished in what will essentially amount to instructional leagues if teams keep minor leaguers in Arizona and/or Florida. Another option is for the Angels to designate Adell to their taxi squad (if such an option is indeed part of a 2020 framework), but that could harm Adell's development as it would limit him to workouts rather than actual game action.

Adell is likely to need more seasoning before making the major-league roster in spite of the delayed start to the campaign, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
In a Q&A session Friday, Angels general manager Billy Eppler suggested that prospects vying for a spot on the Opening Day roster would not see accelerated time frames due to the suspension of play. "With prospects that were competing for a spot on the major-league club, we needed to see them play," Eppler stated. "If the players still had more seasoning needed, then we can't achieve that until they get those tests. The best way to get those tests is to be playing baseball. It doesn't change the potential plan." Adell was a longshot to make the Opening Day roster when spring training was suspended, so Eppler's comments suggest that the delay to the start of the season isn't likely to change the team's stance on their top prospect's assignment to begin the campaign.

Adell played well this spring but is likely to open the season with Triple-A Salt Lake, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Angels' top prospect hit .280 with a pair of doubles in 25 Cactus League at-bats, leading some to speculate that he could earn a spot on the Opening Day roster. However, manager Joe Maddon indicated late in spring that Adell needs more seasoning in the minors, all but assuring the 20-year-old will head back to Triple-A to begin the campaign. Among the skills Adell needs to work on is plate discipline, as he struck out 13 times without drawing a walk in Cactus League play.

Adell is 4-for-12 with a stolen base and two RBI in four spring training games.
EDGE Analysis
Adell is tied for second on the squad with four base knocks, with Friday's RBI double representing his first extra-base hit of the spring. The Angels' top prospect is expected to begin the season in the minors, but a spot on the Opening Day roster is not out of the question if he continues to impress in Cactus League action.

Adell went 2-for-3 with a stolen base and an RBI in the Angels' first spring training contest Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Adell made a quick impact, driving in fellow prospect Brandon Marsh with an RBI single in the opening frame. He then proceeded to swipe second base, showcasing his skills both at the plate and on the basepaths. The dynamic 20-year-old prospect is likely to begin the season at Triple-A Salt Lake, though it's only a matter of time before he is producing in the big leagues.

Adell received an invitation to major-league spring training Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Adell will join Brandon Marsh as a few of the top prospects in the organization at big-league camp. He advanced to Triple-A Salt Lake in 2019, posting a .264/.321/.355 slash line with eight RBI and a stolen base over 27 contests.

Adell has collected three extra-base hits in his last 12 at-bats for Mesa of the Arizona Fall League.
EDGE Analysis
The Angels' top prospect got off to a rough start in his first stint in the AFL but has perked up offensively over his last three games, going 6-for-12 with a home run and two doubles. Adell hit .289 with 10 homers across three minor-league levels this season.
