White Sox optioned RHP Jhan Marinez to Triple-A Charlotte. Marinez tossed 1 2/3 innings of scoreless relief last Friday in his major league debut. He's clearing the way for Pedro Hernandez, who will be called up to start Wednesday.

White Sox recalled RHP Jhan Marinez from Triple-A Charlotte. One of the pieces acquired from the Marlins in the trade of manager Ozzie Guillen, Marinez has posted a 3.14 ERA and 47/20 K/BB ratio over 43 innings for Charlotte this season. He'll be used in the middle innings.
