Winker was added to the Reds' 40-man roster on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
The Reds protected Winker from the Rule 5 draft, as expected. No longer the top prospect in the organization, following the drafting of Nick Senzel in June, Winker failed to hit for power last year at Triple-A, but still displayed a plus hit tool and phenomenal approach (59:59 K:BB in 448 plate appearances). He has shown the ability to hit double-digit homers in a season on three previous occasions, so owners should not overreact to him hitting just three over the fence in 2016. Winker should reach the majors early on in 2017 and should quickly earn a spot near the top of the big league lineup.

Winker is one of a handful of Reds prospects expected to get the call when rosters expand on September 1.
EDGE Analysis
Winker has been a good on-base threat at Triple-A Louisville, but he still hasn't found the ability to hit for power, slugging just .380 on the season.

Winker (wrist) went 0-for-4 in his first game back with Triple-A Louisville on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
After four games with the team's rookie-level affiliate, Winker was thrust back up atop the minor league ladder. Winker, who missed a month due to a wrist injury, has managed just two home runs in 56 games with Louisville this season and hasn't even attempted a stolen base, but he has more walks (33) than strikeouts (32) and that plate discipline could earn him a September promotion.

Winker (wrist) has started a rehab assignment in the Arizona Rookie League, RedsMinorLeagues.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Winker might need a decent amount of time before proving he's ready to advance beyond Triple-A Louisville, as he has just two homers and a .367 slugging percentage so far. But the Reds will still likely give him a look at some point this year, especially if Jay Bruce gets dealt as expected by the trade deadline.

EDGE Analysis
Winker is set for an exam with Reds team physician Dr. Timothy Kremchek early next week, suggesting that he won't be returning to action anytime soon.

Winker is day-to-day with a wrist injury, Steve Bittenbender of The Courier-Journal reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Reds' top outfield prospect exited Sunday's game with an apparent wrist injury and he was held out of Monday's contest. He underwent an MRI on Monday, but the Reds have yet to disclose the extent of his injury. That said, manager Delino DeShields did note that Winker was having trouble gripping the bat. He's considered day-to-day at this point, and his timetable for a return should come into focus once the results of the MRI are released.

Winker, 22, is slashing .303/.405/.394 with two home runs and 17 RBI through 30 games for Triple-A Louisville.
EDGE Analysis
Perhaps most impressive, Winker has more walks (20) than strikeouts (14). On the downside, his power has been almost non-existent, and he has not stolen a single base thus far in 2016. Obviously the lack of power or speed will limit his fantasy upside.

Winker, 21, is batting .250/.356/.365 with three home runs, 16 RBI and five stolen bases for Double-A Pensacola.
Winker has had a poor start to the season, though may be heating up. Over his last 10 games, Winker is hitting .333 with one home run, five RBI and one stolen base.

Winker is slashing .232/.352/.326 with two home runs and four steals in 165 plate appearances with Double-A Pensacola.
Winker now has 257 plate appearances (60 games) at Double-A under his belt dating back to last year and he is slashing just .223/.342/.335 with four home runs over that span. The adjustment between High-A and Double-A can be one of the most difficult transitions for a hitter, and Winker has certainly struggled so far in the Southern League. He is still comfortably a top-100 prospect, but his prospect stock is trending in the wrong direction.
