The Nationals and Mets agreed to a trade Saturday contingent upon players passing physicals that will send Winker to New York, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Assuming all players involved are medically cleared, Winker will bolster the Mets' corner outfield depth and could see some action at DH. In Jeff McNeil and Brandon Nimmo, the Mets already have a pair of quality lefty-handed bats in the corner outfield positions, and J.D. Martinez has been the team's everyday DH, leaving Winker's immediate role up in the air. Winker is batting .257 on the year with 11 homers, 14 steals, 51 runs and 45 RBI.

Winker is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Reds.
EDGE Analysis
The left-handed-hitting Winker will take a seat for the second day in a row while the Reds bring another lefty (Andrew Abbott) to the hill for the series finale. Harold Ramirez will once again replace Winker as the Nationals' designated hitter.

Winker went 1-for-1 with three walks, two runs scored and two stolen bases in Friday's 8-5 win over the Reds.
EDGE Analysis
With his two steals Friday, Winker's up to 14 stolen bases on the year -- the 30-year-old outfielder hadn't recorded more than one stolen base in any of his previous seven campaigns. While Winker went just 2-for-16 in his six games prior to the All-Star break, he's had a strong bounce-back campaign overall in Washington, slashing .263/.38/.434 with 11 homers, 43 RBI and 49 runs scored.

Winker went 2-for-4 with a homer, a double and two RBI in Friday's 5-2 win versus Milwaukee.
EDGE Analysis
The Washington designated hitter cracked an RBI double in the first inning to open the game's scoring. Winker later laced a 403-foot solo shot off Freddy Peralta in the fifth inning to extend the lead to 4-2. The 30-year-old has enjoyed a wonderful first half so far, hitting .260 with 11 homers, 12 steals, 47 runs scored and 43 RBI across 292 at-bats.

Winker hit a solo home run in his only at-bat in Thursday's 1-0 win over the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
He did not start with the lefty Jose Quintana pitching, but Winker provided the only spark of the contest when he took Adrian Houser deep in the eighth. It was Winker's 10th homer of the season, his fifth career pinch-hit blast and first pinch-hit homer since 2019 with the Reds. The 30-year-old will often sit against lefties, but he's been very good in his first year with the Nationals, slashing .263/.377/.425 with 39 RBI and 12 stolen bases.

Winker is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Mets, Andrew Golden of The Washington Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lefty Jose Quintana is taking the mound Thursday for New York, so Winker will hit the bench for the third time in four games. Harold Ramirez will receive another start at designated hitter as the pair continues to platoon the position.

Winker is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
Winker is poised to become the Nationals' primary designated hitter after the club designated Eddie Rosario for assignment and called up James Wood from Triple-A Rochester to play left field on an everyday basis. The lefty-hitting Winker will begin the four-game series with the Mets on the bench, however, with New York sending left-hander David Peterson to the mound. Harold Ramirez will serve as the DH on Monday.
