Biddle was left off Atlanta's 25-man roster for the NLDS against the Dodgers.

Biddle will not be available for this series after struggling a bit over his the last couple weeks of the regular season. Dating back to Sept. 6, the reliever has given up eight earned runs on eight hits and eight walks in 7.1 innings.

Biddle tossed a scoreless 10th inning, allowing one hit as he picked up the save Sunday against the Mets.

Biddle allowed the tying run to reach base on a leadoff double, but he managed to slam the door as the Braves took the series finale. Through 37 relief appearances this season, he owns a 2.30 ERA and 1.12 WHIP with 42 strikeouts and six holds over 43 innings. Biddle should continue to be deployed in mid-to-high leverage situations moving forward.

Biddle struck out eight hitters over three shutout frames of relief Saturday in the Braves' 5-3 win over the Nationals in 14 innings. He yielded a hit and two walks in the outing.

EDGE Analysis

Biddle nearly put himself on the hook for the loss after loading the bases with two outs in the 11th inning, but he struck out Juan Soto to escape the frame unscathed. He avoided trouble the rest of the afternoon, riding his three-pitch mix to a career-high strikeout total. The 26-year-old seems to have found a niche as a long man in the Atlanta bullpen, as he's posted a solid 2.70 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 24:9 K:BB in 20 innings.

Biddle turned in quite the performance against the team that drafted him in the first round in 2010, with only one of the seven batters he faced on the afternoon reaching base. The lefty also made an impact at the dish, recording an RBI double in his first MLB at-bat in the top of the ninth. With Biddle having spun 6.1 scoreless innings over his first four appearances with Atlanta, it looks as though he could stick around in the big leagues longer than initially expected.

Biddle made his big-league debut Saturday, walking one in a scoreless ninth inning to get the win in a 4-3 victory over the Mets.

EDGE Analysis

It's been a long, winding road to the majors for the 2010 first-round pick, but Biddle was rewarded for his perseverance when the Braves scored twice in the bottom of the ninth off Mets closer Jeurys Familia. Biddle seems to be taking well to his new bullpen role, posting a 2.57 ERA and 61:17 K:BB in 56 innings over the last two seasons in the minors, but the left-hander's role in the Atlanta bullpen likely won't afford him too many opportunities to generate fantasy value.

Biddle was called up to the majors Wednesday.

EDGE Analysis

Biddle will replace Jose Ramirez in the bullpen after Ramirez was placed on the disabled list with shoulder inflammation. Biddle was a first-round pick by the Phillies back in 2010 but suffered a long run of bad luck, including a hailstorm-related concussion in 2014 and Tommy John surgery in 2015. Converted to a reliever post-surgery, Biddle tossed 49.2 innings with a 2.90 ERA in 2017 for Double-A Mississippi and had yet to give up a run in 6.1 innings for Triple-A Gwinnett so far in 2018.

Biddle was optioned to Double-A Mississippi on Wednesday, David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

EDGE Analysis

The embattled hurler pitched well in his spring debut Saturday, striking out a batter in a lone scoreless frame, but given that he hasn't appeared in a regular season game since 2015, it comes as no surprise that he'll head to the minors for more seasoning. However, Biddle very well could compete for a spot in the major league bullpen sometime during the season if he performs well in the minors.

The 25-year-old will look to continue to stay healthy and get his career back on track.

Biddle (elbow) was transferred to the 60-day DL on Tuesday.

Biddle is still recovering from his Tommy John surgery in October, and will be out for the entire 2016 season. The former first-round pick will try to get his career back on track when he returns to full strength after a posting a disappointing 6.25 ERA in Triple-A last season.
