Jerome Williams (chest) could begin a rehab assignment within the next few days. Williams threw another successful bullpen session Thursday. He'll need a couple rehab starts before returning, "just to make sure he comes out of it fine and is feeling good," Angels manager Mike Scioscia said. It's not clear yet what role he'll return in, but it's hard to imagine Garrett Richards being removed from the rotation.

Jerome Williams (chest) threw a successful bullpen session Saturday. Good to hear. Williams appears to be back to normal after a scare last week when he collapsed in the clubhouse due to shortness of breath. He should be ready to return from the DL when eligible, but he might be moved to the bullpen.

Jerome Williams (chest) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session next week ''with no restrictions.'' Williams is eligible to come off the disabled list on July 4, but whether he returns to the starting rotation remains to be seen. Williams is out of options, so he'll likely be used in the bullpen if the Angels go with Garrett Richards as their fifth starter. Richards has given up just two earned runs in 21 innings this season.

According to MLB.com's Alden Gonzalez, Jerome Williams (chest) has been cleared for all baseball-related activities, and the Angels ''don't have to be cautious'' about him starting. Williams was placed on the disabled list earlier this week with a respiratory condition, and the Angels are considering moving him to the bullpen with Garrett Richards pitching well. Richards has a 0.86 ERA in four appearances (three starts) since being promoted last month.

Angels placed RHP Jerome Williams on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to June 19, with shortness of breath. Williams is feeling much better after collapsing in the clubhouse following his start Monday, but the Angels want to play it safe. He'll likely return in two weeks, but it might be in a bullpen role if Garrett Richards is pitching well.

Jerome Williams (chest) is likely to be released from the hospital on Tuesday evening. Williams experienced shortness of breath then passed out in the Angels' clubhouse following his start Monday night against the Giants. He felt much better on Tuesday and might not miss a turn in the Halos' starting rotation.

Jerome Williams will undergo more tests Tuesday, after being take to hospital following Monday's start against the Giants. Williams experienced shortness of breath while in the clubhouse and reportedly passed out before paramedics came in. "I think he's feeling much better right now than he did when he left," manager Mike Scioscia said, "but obviously we have to just take it one step at a time and hopefully it's not going to be anything serious."

The Angels confirmed that Jerome Williams was taken to an area hospital following Monday's start against the Giants. Williams gave up four runs on seven hits and three walks over 3 1/3 innings before leaving Monday's start. The hospital visit is believed to be precautionary after he experienced shortness of breath, but the Angels should provide further information following the game.

Jerome Williams gave up five runs over 7 2/3 innings Tuesday against the Dodgers. We have a hard time blaming Williams for his final line. The Angels sent him out for the eighth inning with a 2-1 lead. With two outs and a runner on first, Williams walked a batter and gave up a single. With the game tied, manager Mike Scioscia still didn't summon a reliever. Williams promptly served up a three-run homer to Juan Rivera that changed the complexion of the game. Even though his numbers were hurt by Scioscia's decision, Williams still holds a 4.20 ERA and 1.30 WHIP.

Jerome Williams recorded his sixth win by holding the Rangers to two runs over seven innings on Friday. Williams avenged his earlier shelling by the Rangers. That was an odd one anyway, since he came in as a reliever in the first inning after a long rain delay resulted in C.J. Wilson's short night. Strictly as far as starts, Williams has now turned in eight quality starts in a row. He's come up huge for the Angels thus far.
