Jeffress (shoulder) will return to Milwaukee on Monday ahead of his activation from the injured list, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
Manager Craig Counsell indicated Jeffress will then be activated either Monday or Tuesday, depending how the team's bullpen needs unfold. The 31-year-old had ugly results during his rehab stint at Triple-A San Antonio with seven runs allowed -- including three homers -- over 4.1 innings, but the important news is that the shoulder injury is behind him. Jeffress figures to step into a high-leverage role in the Brewers' bullpen, though he could be eased into action with some lower-leverage spots to start.

Jeffress (shoulder) will make his last rehab outing Saturday and is expected to be activated from the injured list for Milwaukee's upcoming homestand, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
Jeffress will need to make it through one more rehab outing at Triple-A San Antonio before coming off the injured list. As one of Milwaukee's more reliable options out of the bullpen a season ago, the right-hander's return will be a welcome sight for a group that's struggled early in the 2019 campaign. Jeffress figures to eventually slot in as a setup man behind Josh Hader, although skipper Craig Counsell may deploy him in a few low-leverage situations to start.

Jeffress (shoulder) threw an inning in a minor-league game Tuesday and is scheduled to throw for a second straight day Wednesday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Much like his first rehab outing, Jeffress was not sharp, allowing three earned runs on four hits; but the results are secondary to the fact he was presumably able to get through the outing without a setback. As McCalvy notes, if Jeffress is able to get through Wednesday's outing without a setback, the Brewers may opt to bring him back right away to bolster their bullpen. It was reported over the weekend, though, that the Brewers were targeting a return sometime next week, so another rehab outing isn't out of the questions. The plan for Jeffress' next step will emerge after Wednesday's outing, but one way or another, it should not be long before he is back with the big club.

Jeffress (shoulder) is on track to return during the Brewers' next homestand, which begins on April 15, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
Jeffress still has some work to do on his rehab assignment, but the Brewers have set a general target, barring setbacks. He could pick up some saves when he returns with Corey Knebel out for the year for Tommy John surgery.

Jeffress (shoulder) began a rehab assignment Friday with Triple-A San Antonio and allowed two earned runs over 1.1 innings.
EDGE Analysis
Jeffress served up a two-run homer, but more importantly, he seemed to come out of Friday's outing -- his first game action since March 6 -- without suffering any issues. Given the length of his absence Jeffress will likely throw several more times in the minors in order to build up his stamina, but barring any setbacks, it's likely he will be ready to pitch for the Brewers at some point before April comes to a close.

Manager Craig Counsell said Wednesday that there were "all good signs" from Jeffress's (shoulder) throwing session the day before, and he is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment Friday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Jeffress has made good progress in his recovery from the shoulder injury that limited him during spring training, and he is now ready to appear in a game. It's not clear how many outings Jeffress will need before he is ready to come off the injured list, but he is on track to make his season debut for the Brewers at some point this month.

Jeffress (shoulder) will make a rehab appearance with Triple-A San Antonio soon and isn't far from returning to the Brewers, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
Jeffress is eligible to return April 5, though San Antonio doesn't begin its schedule until April 4, so he'll likely need a bit more time than that. Saves are available in Milwaukee with Corey Knebel out for the year after undergoing Tommy John surgery, and while Josh Hader has remained excellent in the ninth inning, the Brewers could push him back into a flexible role once Jeffress returns, giving Jeffress the opportunity to earn a fair number of saves.

Jeffress (shoulder) threw an inning in extended spring training and is expected to throw again on Tuesday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Jeffress continues to progress in rehabbing his shoulder, and if things go as planned, he may begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A San Antonio later this week. Assuming he can return to his normal velocity and shows no other ill-effects due to the injury, Jeffress figures to be in the mix for saves in Milwaukee.

Jeffress (shoulder) threw a bullpen session Wednesday without issue, and is scheduled to throw off a mound again Saturday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports. The Brewers placed him on the 10-day injured list Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Manager Craig Counsell didn't go into detail about Wednesday's session, but with Jeffress scheduled to throw again in just a couple days, it must have gone without a hitch. Jeffress will still be unavailable to begin the season, but since he's throwing again without issue, he should be on track to make his 2019 debut at some point in April. For most of the offseason, Jeffress was expected to work in a setup role (along with Josh Hader) in front of Corey Knebel, but Knebel is expected to miss some time -- possibly the entire season -- with an elbow injury. Knebel's likely long-term absence means that Jeffress and Hader figure to share the ninth-inning duties in some fashion when Jeffress is ready to go.

Jeffress (shoulder) will throw a bullpen session Wednesday, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
Jeffress will then travel to Milwaukee for Opening Day before returning to Arizona to pitch in minor-league games. The 31-year-old is expected to open the season on the injured list, but his current outlook only has him missing the first two or three weeks of the season. Josh Hader is likely to see increased ninth-inning opportunities with Corey Knebel (elbow) also sidelined.
