Hoffman came away with the save in Friday's 6-4 win over the Twins after striking out three batters and walking one in a scoreless ninth inning.
EDGE Analysis
Hoffman was brought in for the ninth to protect the Blue Jays' two-run lead. He walked Byron Buxton after striking out the first two batters, but Hoffman secured the win for Toronto after punching out Trevor Larnach. It was the sixth time this season that Hoffman has recorded at least three strikeouts. The 32-year-old right-hander is 14-for-17 in save opportunities this season along with a 5.53 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 41:8 K:BB across 27.2 innings.

Hoffman (5-2) picked up the win Wednesday over the Phillies, giving up a hit and recording one out.
EDGE Analysis
Facing the team he developed into a shutdown reliever with over the prior two years, Hoffman entered a 1-1 game with two outs in the top of the ninth inning and gave up a single to Alec Bohm before closing out the frame. The right-hander then got rewarded with a win when Alejandro Kirk poked a walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth. Hoffman has had trouble avoiding blowups this season, but he's held the opposition scoreless in six of his last eight appearances while collecting two wins and four saves in five chances. On the season, Hoffman sports a 5.74 ERA that isn't reflected by his 1.13 WHIP or 38:7 K:BB in 26.2 innings.

Hoffman gave up two runs on two hits and a walk in the ninth inning Saturday to record his 13th save of the season in an 8-7 win over the A's. He struck out one.
EDGE Analysis
Keeping the ball in the yard was once again an issue for Hoffman, who served up a two-run blast to Brent Rooker with two outs. The right-hander's woes didn't end there -- his next pitch after the homer resulted in a double for Tyler Soderstrom, and Hoffman only avoided blowing the save when Ernie Clement robbed Shea Langeliers of a line-drive RBI single with a diving catch. Hoffman wraps up a nightmarish May with a 13.50 ERA over 10 innings thanks largely to five home runs allowed, and he blew three of his 10 save chances. As yet, Toronto hasn't indicated his job as closer is in jeopardy, but the 32-year-old will need to turn things around quickly in June to keep it that way.

Hoffman picked up the save in Wednesday's 2-0 win over the Rangers after throwing a clean ninth inning. He struck out one.
EDGE Analysis
It was Hoffman's fourth spotless outing in his last five appearances, as he continues to recover from several implosions in May. His ERA still stands at 13.00 in nine innings this month, but the hard-throwing right-hander does sport a 13:5 K:BB during this stretch and continues to operate as Toronto's clear-cut closer despite his struggles. With Yimi Garcia (shoulder) and Nick Sandlin (lat) both on the injured list, the Blue Jays are depending on Hoffman even more for ninth-inning work.

Hoffman secured the save in Monday's 2-1 win over the Rangers after throwing a scoreless ninth inning with no strikeouts.
EDGE Analysis
It was the 11th save of the season for Hoffman, who's looking to overcome what's been a dreadful month of May to this point. Over his last eight innings, the hard-throwing right-hander owns a 14.63 ERA, 2.13 WHIP and 12:5 K:BB while converting just five of his eight save chances. The Blue Jays have continued to demonstrate trust in Hoffman as their closer, and they'll likely have to lean even more heavily on him for ninth-inning work as long as Yimi Garcia (shoulder) is recovering on the injured list.

Hoffman picked up his third blown save of the season, surrendering two runs on two hits while striking out one in Thursday's 7-6 extra-innings win against the Padres.
EDGE Analysis
The month of May continues to be a struggle for Hoffman with all three of his blown saves coming in the last couple weeks. In his last eight appearances, the 31-year-old has allowed 13 runs and his ERA has ballooned up to 6.04 after an April that saw him finish at 1.17. Hoffman's 13.7 K/9 is still elite, so his closer spot perhaps isn't in danger just yet, but Hoffman will have to put these last few months behind him quickly and regain his footing if he wants to keep his spot with other leverage guys like Yimi Garcia pitching well behind him.

Hoffman earned the save Tuesday against the Padres after throwing a clean ninth inning. He struck out one.
EDGE Analysis
Hoffman was sharp, making quick work of the heart of San Diego's batting order while hurling eight of his nine pitches for strikes. Tuesday marked a second consecutive scoreless outing for the hard-throwing right-hander, who had yielded 11 runs over his previous three innings of work. The Blue Jays have shown trust in Hoffman as their closer after signing him to a three-year contract this past offseason, and the 32-year-old righty carries a 1.13 WHIP and 32:5 K:BB while converting 10 of his 12 save opportunities despite a shaky 5.48 ERA across 21.1 innings in 2025.

Hoffman (4-2) walked one in a scoreless ninth inning Saturday to pick up the win in a 2-1 victory over the Tigers.
EDGE Analysis
With the score tied 1-1, Toronto's closer was brought in to work the top of the ninth and saw a leadoff walk erased on a double play started by Nathan Lukes, who threw out Gleyber Torres trying to tag up and advance to second base on a fly ball deep into the left-field corner. Hoffman then collected the win on Ernie Clement's walk-off single in the bottom of the frame. It was a reassuring effort from Hoffman after he got tagged for five runs in a third of an inning in his last appearances, but he's having an awful May overall with a 19.80 ERA in five innings while going just 3-for-5 in converting save chances.

Hoffman (3-2) was charged with a blown save and the loss Tuesday against the Rays after allowing five runs on four hits and a walk while picking up a strikeout as the only out he recorded.
EDGE Analysis
Hoffman entered to begin the ninth protecting a one-run lead and got off on the right foot with a strikeout, but everything went downhill from there. He proceeded to give up three singles and a walk before Junior Caminero launched a grand slam to put the Rays up 11-7. Hoffman's now allowed 11 runs in his last five appearances after allowing just two runs in 16.1 innings prior to his recent struggles. He's up to a 6.05 ERA but still sports an excellent 31:4 K:BB in 19.1 innings.

Hoffman struck out three in a perfect inning to earn the save in Saturday's 6-3 win over the Mariners.
EDGE Analysis
Hoffman picked up his second save in as many days with this effort. He needed 17 pitches (11 strikes) to get the job done, but it was another encouraging outing after his struggles earlier in the week versus the Angels. The closer is up to nine saves in 10 chances while pitching to a 3.79 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 30:3 K:BB across 19 innings this season. Since he's pitched four of the last five days, Hoffman is unlikely to be available for any potential save chances in Sunday's getaway day game.
