J.D. Martinez led the way in the Astros' 9-1 shellacking of the Diamondbacks on Monday, going 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI.
Martinez has now homered three times in just nine games while driving in 11 runs since joining the Astros on July 30. There's no reason not to take the plunge in your NL-only league.

J.D. Martinez went 3-for-4 with a double, home run and four RBI in Houston's win over the Reds on Wednesday.
Martinez had been just 2-for-12 since joining the Astros on July 30, but certainly found his stoke this evening. Amazingly, his big night came hitting out of the third spot in the order. It's going to be a very long final two months in Houston.

Astros manager Brad Mills indicated that J.D. Martinez will be an everyday player moving forward.
"We're not bringing him up here not to play," Mills said. "So he'll play." Martinez, who was batting .340 batting average to go along with 13 homers and 71 RBI with Double-A Corpus Christi before being summoned Friday, said he's more comfortable in left field, but he might have to play right with Carlos Lee around. Martinez had a pinch-hit, RBI double in his first at-bat Saturday and presumably will get his first start Sunday.

Astros purchased the contract of OF J.D. Martinez from Double-A Corpus Christi.
He'll take the place of Hunter Pence on the active roster. Martinez, 23, has an impressive .342/.407/.552 batting line over parts of three seasons in the minor leagues, including a .340 batting average to go along with 13 homers and 71 RBI with Double-A Corpus Christi this season. It will be interesting to see where he fits with the Astros, as Jason Bourgeois is obviously deserving of playing time. We'd take a flier on him in NL-only leagues, anyway.

Astros prospect outfielder J.D. Martinez was pulled from Friday's game with Double-A Corpus Christi.
This is a sign that he will replace Hunter Pence on the roster if and when he is traded to Philadelphia. Martinez, 23, entered play Friday batting .340/.416/.549 with 13 homers and 71 RBI this season. While the young outfielder may get the call from the minors, we're hoping that the Pence trade will open the door for Jason Bourgeois to play everyday.
