Martinez went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer, three RBI and two runs in the 7-4 victory over the White Sox on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
The right fielder is now 4-for-7 with four RBI in the series and has 12 homers, 33 RBI and 32 runs this season. Martinez did have eight home runs in May, but after hitting .229 in the month, it's nice to see the slugger record two multi-hit games in the first few days of June.

Martinez went 2-for-4 with an RBI and run scored in Friday's 10-3 victory over the White Sox.
EDGE Analysis
The 28-year-old outfielder recorded his first multi-hit game since May 22 versus the Rays, and posted his fourth RBI in the last four contests. Martinez is still trying to find a consistent rhythm at the plate this season, as his current .249 average is considerably behind the .315 and .282 figures he posted in 2014 and 2015, respectively.

Martinez went 1-for-5 with a triple and an RBI Friday against Oakland.
EDGE Analysis

Martinez went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer Saturday against the Rays.
EDGE Analysis
Martinez's ninth bomb of the year gave the Tigers a pair of insurance runs that they ended up needing to hold on to a one-run victory. He's now hit four homers over his last six games, and he's slashing .256/.331/.481.

Martinez hit his eighth home run, a solo shot, as part of a 2-for-4 game in Tuesday's win over the Twins.
EDGE Analysis
Martinez now has homers in three straight games and five blasts in his past nine games. After a slow start, Martinez has totally righted the ship and is now on pace for 33 home runs. In 281 games over the past two seasons, Martinez hammered 61 home runs, a 35-homer pace per 162 games, so Martinez has picked up this season right where he left off.

Martinez hit his seventh home run as part of a 3-for-4 game with two runs scored and two RBI Monday against the Twins.
EDGE Analysis
Martinez now has four home runs in his past eight games and has pushed his batting line from .230/.299/.369 to a respectable .252/.335/.448 in that span. Martinez has a better strikeout rate (23.2 percent) and walk rate (10.4 percent) than last season but was beating the ball into the ground and had yet to show the power that set him apart in 2014 and 2015 (61 combined home runs). Now that it looks like Martinez has found his power stroke too, he could once again become one of the American League's most productive outfielders.

Martinez went 2-for-4 with a walk and a solo shot, his sixth home run of the season, in Sunday's 6-5 win over the Orioles.
EDGE Analysis
He and Miguel Cabrera homered back to back in the eighth to give the Tigers the win after Martinez had appeared to strike out on a check swing to end the inning, but those are the breaks you get when things are going your way. Martinez now has three homers in the last week with a .269/.387/.654 slash line, and could be poised to go on a tear.

Martinez hit a solo homer and struck out three times against the Nationals' Max Scherzer in Wednesday's loss.
EDGE Analysis
After 2014's breakout was followed by 2015's power explosion, Martinez flew off draft boards this spring, and early indications confirmed that valuation -- on April 19, he was hitting .370/.444/.565, but then he hit the skids in a big way. Over the 19 games between then and Wednesday, Martinez went just 11-for-76 (.145) with two homers. His BABIP is still way too low at .264 and his HR/FB is depressed as well, so Martinez should bounce back promptly. It's also hard to blame him for all those whiffs Wednesday, considering that the Tigers went down on strikes 20 times against Max Scherzer.

Martinez went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Monday's loss to the Nationals.
EDGE Analysis
Martinez had been off to a putrid start to May, collecting just two hits in 27 at-bats prior to Monday. Monday's game could be a sign that Martinez is starting to come back to life, as the outfielder hit a robust .282 with 38 home runs a season ago. He's at .239 with four homers thus far this year.

Manager Brad Ausmus confirmed that Martinez is not sitting Friday due to injury, the Oakland Press reports. "[Martinez] was really last man standing, that hasn't had a day off," Ausmus said. "And you can tell, watching him in batting practice, that mentally he could use a day, when he doesn't have to grind over every single pitch or every single at-bat."
EDGE Analysis
Mike Aviles is starting in right field with Martinez on the bench for the first time this season. Martinez will miss out on an enticing matchup against a lefty on Friday, but hopefully the day off will allow him to recharge his batteries. The 28-year-old Martinez is just 3-for-26 with one extra-base hit over the past week.
